Conboy has never shown that he could keep up with the NHL game. Schultz needed more time last year and white obviously took that spot through energy and willpower and they didn't want to mess with that chemistry. Fact is that you want a spot on the big club yOu need to earn it out on the ice; not in the gym.

Hmm, Yemelin is the type that isn't afraid to get dirty so I wouldn't want him in 'revenge mode' if I were the Bruins.

Concerning Conboy.... He needs to start doing more in pre-season than getting into/losing fights. He's a good hockey player, he needs to stop getting lost in that goon type game when it's most important to show you can play hockey.

It doesn't help that the pre-season crowd absolutely loves watching fights.

I remember wanting Blunden when he was with Chicago. He's not going to be the player i expected from him but he still add size and some toughness nonetheless. Russell would never have made the team so that's a pretty decent trade as far as i'm concerned.

He got knocked out by a pretty tough guy in Svitov. I don't want Emelin fighting..he's more important on the ice rather then the penalty box or even the press box.

And in fairness, it was a bit of a cheap shot.

This is an other scouting report

ASSETS: A tremendous overall package featuring size, toughness and a little untapped scoring prowess, he is a versatile team player.

FLAWS: Needs more work without the puck and when in the defensive zone. Hasn't developed his scoring output, as expected.

CAREER POTENTIAL: Versatile depth forward.

FFS.
The sooner you realize people are stupid the easier it gets. Who cares about other people's opinion, everyone has an opinion, and they're entitled to share it.

If you're able to go cheer for another team, then more power to you, but for people like me (and millions out there), this team is apart of me and nothing will ever come close. I can't change my team, and I don't care what people think about them. Born a Habs fan, and I'll die a Habs fan.

How is that a brutal trade ? This is a swap between two marginal players , one who would never have made the team and is a type of player we already have by dozen in the system while the other actually fill a need by adding size and hitting and may actually have a chance to land a spot on the 4th line.

Not sure why people are *****ing but logic and stats dictate that there is no reason to.

People laugh but these are the kinds of deals you do in order to remain competitive.

Is the guy Wayne Gretzky? No he isn't. Could he potentially step up and be a solid 4th liner for us for years to come? That's one thing that is possible. He's big and physical, something our team could use in a viable 13th forward or checking line player. Not saying he turns into a Torres, Rupp, etc. But it's worth a gamble of Ryan Russell imo.

That having been said he could never do a thing too. My optimism remains high but I won't be shocked to see him remain in the AHL.

The bottom line is our team is making moves for the future. We got Bournival, Palushaj, now Blunden.

Again not saying these guys will be future Marty St. Louis', but they could pan out as cheap affordable regulars in our line up. Whether it's 1st or 4th lines you need those types of guys to win.

What I like about PG is he seems to often go out of his way to try and improve the cupboard. It could be a complete flop but at least he tried to deal from abundance in order to address a weakness. We do give up a prospect in each of these deals so it's a double edged sword but hopefully we become the victor in some of these deals.

One guy I could see making us happy is Bournival.

he'll start in Hamilton, good size/grit depth for our bottom 6.

we unfortunately needed that more than what Russel could offer (or potentially offer) making this therefore, imo, a good trade.

haters gonna hate.

That is the problem right there my friend. He will start in Hamilton, and like Conboy, will not see any ice-time with the big club this year.

What is the point in acquiring size and grit if we don't play them?

depth move, a good call up in case of injury... & nothing stopping him from working on his game & getting better, to perhaps eventually crack the starting 12-13.

If he doesn't appear in at least 29 games as a Hab, he will become a UFA come July 1 2012.

You keep saying this and people keep telling you that Conboy is not ready for the nhl.

Instead of repeating yourself, why don't you address those people who are calling you out on what is a ridiculous argument and a largely false one.

Conboy is in the AHL because he's not good enough for the NHL and no other reason.

I guess we'll never know and plus I doubt it.

Boll has been a pretty decent bottom 6 nhler for years. Russell probably won't ever crack and nhl lineup. I doubt Columbus makes that trade.

Conboy could see time with the Habs this year if injuries hit, he's been slowly improving each year. Another year in the AHL should be good for him to round out his game.
