On Chicago's banner night, Detroit came in and beat em 3-2, I hope we do the same against the Bruins

The week break at the end of January is nice timing.

Yeah, I'd be pleased to ruin the opening night for the Pens new home, and the Bruins banner night in consecutive years.

I like the opening of this schedule. Right away to open the season we're playing must-win games. Set the tone for the season by slapping around a team that had our number last year in Boston while they're still dancing with the Cup, and then move to the Devils in hopes to keep them down. Then to open the home schedule it's the battle of cap-killing goaltenders

-12 back-to-backs :
-Two home-and-homes, Ottawa in January, Devils in March.
-Longest road trip is 5 games, right before the Winter Classic. Going to have to haul that 24/7 equipment around.
-Oh **** Jeff Carter just got traded

I think it seems high...that's over a quarter of our season in back to back games.

Of course, I don't know what's normal in that regard. It just seems high to me.

Any other preseason games?
Also, I would think the NHL is holding off on the whole WC announcement for a bit while trying to figure out if the Linc might become available. The NFL is talking about potential shortened season schedules, and the Eagles could lose that Jan. 1 home date they have if the slate is revamped. The NHL could have easily had the whole show at CBP when the schedule was released (putting the boards on the infield and such), as the Phillies were out of town when the schedule was released. Instead, they are waiting for ... what? They could still announce a time change to primetime as well.

We have another really busy March too. Something like 15-16 games in March iirc

The Flyers are usually late in announcing full preseason schedules. That can be attributed to opponents, too. My guess is the Devils are among the remaining games since I don't think their schedule has been announced.

It's not that bad actually, Chicago has like 17 back-to-back games

Tell me about it. I just hate that they are screwing with my potential September baseball viewing. Also figuring the Isles are in the mix. They seem to usually have the Devs or Isles on the preseason slate -- I just want the dates.
And, yeah, I'll go to a preseason game or two. I remember last year against the Isles seeing some young kid in goal that no one ever heard of making 32 saves in a 3-1 win.

I can now officially say two more games:

September 29 - Devils at Flyers
October 1 - Flyers at Devils

C'mon, Winnipeg Jets!!!!
I'm sure the last two are the Islanders, though.

Depending on when the Rangers are leaving for Europe, it's probably them.

Also, the Flyers' preseason is usually seven games, right? The Rangers won't be hosting any preseason games this season with the renovations to MSG.

Mon, Sept. 26 NY Rangers Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia, PA 7:00 p.m.

Not to add to confusion but the Flyers' website has now posted the schedule yet doesn't include the October 1 game. Maybe that is a system flaw because it is in October rather than September? Three games are listed as TBA, too.

http://flyers.nhl.com/club/schedule....012&gameType=2

The Devils' site doesn't have the preseason schedule listed in the "schedule" slot but does have a release which lists that game.

I wonder if the Flyers are going to play the Phantoms or something, because they have 4 games in 4 days, and then 2 games between Sept 23 and the start of the season (Oct 6), which is strange. They usually play 7 or 8 games.

Flyers added another preseason game in New Jersey on October 1.
