Knowledgeable because he picked the Habs to finished 3rd? I'd say more wishful thinking with the team as it sits and seeing the improvement other eastern teams have improved.

There is a difference between being an informed poster or twitterer, and being able to tell the future. It's still a prediction and it means **** until the games are played.

Well I'm one of those who followed him last year and this year, the guy tends to get a good percentage of his posts correct. Take it for what you want. The guy is much more credible than Eklund, and he's considered a insider.

Actually if you follow him like I do and read most posts, then youd know he's a very knowledgeable poster.

If the team stays relatively healthy all year, I don't think many of us here would be surprised to see the Habs battle the Bruins for the division.

Should Habs consider Zherdev, Nikolai for the third line, loads of talent, we could get him for less than 2m.
A third line of Zherdev - Eller - Andrei would be pretty good.

Our D isnt Huge but it wont be that small. I'm expecting a lot from Yemelin and he's listed at 6'2 223lbs on the team's site. All our D except Weber are listed at 200lbs+

I've been saying that lately. It might not be crazy after all! I think we would have to add a couple of draft picks and we're in business. Maybe Kostitsin I don't know... But plecs, stastny, eller down the middle looks very sexy for the future!

definitely... exactly the kind of player worth taking the "term" risk with (assuming he has a clean bill of health).

Ok the poster 323 has 3 posts in 2 years. I then searched "Stastny" on twitter and there's only been one mention of Stastny 48 minutes ago by @ Hab_shhhh who said the same thing. That tweeter has 1 tweet 0 followers and 0 following.... Hmmm I wonder who's trying to start rumors

I think the habs can get him for picks and prospects. Not to sure the avs would want Gomez though. The avs want to shed salary and Duschene, Johnson are rfa's next season while jones is gonna be a ufa so Stastny is moveable.

I think nobody wants Gomez.

Actually, I think some teams want his salary only.

I Call Collusion!!!

Now we know the Truth! The NHL is fixed and teams are being paid off to win or lose depending on what Bettman wants!

Seriously, fail post...

I have a hunch that some of this is true, no particular rumor, but PG has cap room and he is looking at what's out there to see if he can get a bargain from a team trying to unload salary. I think possibilities are Clarkson, Malone, Vinnie and Semin as those teams all have cap issues.

Is this the one who said Clb and Mtl were talking trade before the Russel trade?

I'm not trying to minimize the relevance of this thread like some are trying to do, but where exactly is Semin suppose to play if we get him?

I don't know if one of Cammalleri or Semin could play right wing. I'm pretty sure I've seen Cammalleri play right wing a few times.

Semin-Plekanec-Cammalleri

That would be a legit 1st line.

Sorry buddy, it ain't happening. We got Eric Cole to play the Holmstrom, Bertuzzi, Maxpac type game the 1st badly needed. My guess would be that Kostitsyn goes the other way and we get DD-Eller--Semin as a 3rd line

Statsny is a very good player. Not as great as his father, though. He has been injured few times in the last couple of years.

Of course, I would pick him any day before Gomez, but it would take way more than Gomez and even Gorges to get him.

With Stastny, Plekanec becomes the #2 centerman or #1B if you prefer.

Avs need to be at the cap floor, trading away their biggest salary and getting back picks and prospects will not help them reach the cap floor. They would need salary in return so I don't think such move happens unless for some reason they would want Gomez which would be a downgrade

I'm guessing Kostitsyn would be the odd man out having a 1 year deal, he would be movable

Gio-Gomez-Cole
Cammalleri-Pleks-Semin
DD-Eller-Pacioretty

That would be a hell of a top 9
