Quick hits, around the league...

Francis has retired.

Ryan Smyth was signed (2 years, $7 million). Pretty darn reasonable.

Bondra is a Thrasher. He signed for $505K!!!!! With incentives, of course, that could take him to $2.9 million. What a deal. What are the implications/cap hit for a incentive-laden contract? Do teams have to take the max? $505K enables the Thrashers to still offer the world to Kovalchuk (although they do not want to). $2.9 million makes it closer, and I don't know if they can go much more than $6 million or so. It seems as though he was offered somewhere around $5.5 million (a bit more than Rick Nash money).
