Does Josh have any shot at making the team, possibly filling in the role that Todd Fedoruk played. I am thinking the answer is no, but unfortunately I dont live in the area and have no idea about what Hitch thinks about Mr. Gratton!
I pretty sure he has a very minimal shot at it. Brashear should be counted on for protecting the talent and if he is not than he really should have been dealt. There are just too many other players ahead of Gratton on the depth chart for him too earn a spot I think.
I thought he was pretty good on the Phantoms. I liked him a lot, but sadly he doesnt have nearly enough to make the team this year. He has to be behind at least Sim, Umberger, and Eager on the depth chart. I can see him getting his cup of coffee, but I dont see him as even a regular injury fill in at this point.
given the way the league is going, if you want to be a competitive team your players can't be one-dimensional. say what you want about Brashear -- and he does drive me nutz -- but he does bring some offensive ability to the table given his other talents.
guys like Gratton are going to really have to prove that they can skate, shoot, and play defense at the NHL level before they are going to get a real look. plus, just looking at the expected talent level on this team and the players we will be putting on the fourth line... going to be tough for Gratton to sniff making this squad.
