Helmet is for sure gross (looks like a bike helmet glad guys like Gabby and Getzlaf ditched if for the 4500) but the gloves and sticks are legit. Love the blacked out z air gloves Richards used when he first got to Dallas.

Ugliest overall gear award goes to Reebok.

Can't stand the Easton helmet either. I think Easton's gear, overall, is uglier than Reebok's. Easton's skates and helmets are especially heinous. I stick with Bauer in most cases, though if I did need a new helmet, I might see how the CCM bucket felt.

Indeed.

I like Easton sticks for sure. Bauer lids are the best. As far as gloves and skates I really like my Eagle X72's and Graf skates are great surprised how few players are using them.

Heard the break in period on Reebok skates was horribly long not sure if true.

I know you said overall, but the skates are pretty nice. Especially the White 11K Pumps. Those are sick. Cally wears Reebok skates so I think they are good

Call me old fashioned, but my favorite looking helmet is the old CCM helmet.

i use the RBK 10k skates...RBK skates are amazing for me..i have really really wide feet, so CCMs are just way too narrow...the RBKs are nice and wide, and then i can tie em nice and tight around the foot to keep it snug....nothing worse then having your feet smashed in from wearing narrow skates.

i dont know how ppl say they have the same skates for years and years..ive never had a pair that lasted more than 2.5 years. after that the interior just gets destroyed, all the armor and stuff pokes through.

i mean, i get it if you dont play often...i play 2-4 times a week, so for me, if i get 2-3 years outta skates im thrilled.

I wear X:60s. I've had two pairs. My recent one should last me a lot longer (see: years) since I only play pick-up for now and the most wear I'll ever put on them again will be men's league. Before the X:60s I wore XXXXs and before that I'd had CCM tacks my whole life. I was really happy with the change to Bauer though adjusting to Tuuk runners was weird for a while.

I used to go through skates so fast because I was skating 1-2 times a day, 5+ days a week for a few years. Now I that I just play pick-up and drop in to the occasional men's league game I'll probably have the same skates until I'm 30.

They were in awful shape before i had to get new skates lol.

I had to have them stitched by a shoe repairman, because the leather ripped near an eyelet on both skates. The holders broke at least twice and replaced. They were getting a little moldy, too, which was unhealthy.

And they were too small.

I loved those skates. LOL.

I haven't been able to find a pair I'm 100% happy with since.

Though, these look promising:

http://www.thehockeyshop.com/us/baue...or-skates.html

http://www.thehockeyshop.com/us/nike...ior-skate.html

They're custom versions of stock skates.

In fact, i've held the second one. And love them. As soon as i have some spare money, could be never lol, i intend to get a pair.

Speaking off hockey gear... Where did the Mission Intake helmet go? It dissapeared after the 08/09 season.

Best looking helmet, IMO.

What kind of helmet is it that Eric Staal wears that makes his head look so small? Because I vote that for whackest current helmet.

I don't think Mission makes ice hockey helmets/gear anymore. I never liked their ice hockey gear though. Stick to roller.

It's a normal 5500 which was pretty much the most popular helmet in all of hockey a few years back. Looked plenty normal on everyone else:

Maybe Staal just has a small head.

Do any players use any Mission gear anymore? Now that you mention it I haven't seen any. The NHL charges 150k or so to equipment companies to allow them into the league. That would be my guess as to why Mission disappeared they decided it wasn't worth it to have 15 players wearing there helmets.

Same reason Dan Blackburn's company (GDI) has never been in the league, although I think some AHLers use his gear.

Bauer bought Mission/Itech in 2008 and put all the ice hockey gear under the Bauer name.

I think nothing would crack me up more than to see EC skating around with a big "Doesn't Care" written on the back of his jersey where the number should be.
