Sauer is already at my top spot as far as Rangers go. It's a tie between Sauer, Callahan, and Prust.

This kid needs to be locked up. Hes everything you want in a defensemen.

Keen fisherman. I like the guy even more.

2 year/ 2.5 mill (1.25 per) deal sounds about right.

I now desperately want to go fishing. Next year when I head off-grid it may be one of the only things I do.

One down, 3 to go. I have a feeling we'll be tackling these in order of increasing difficulty.

So what, Boyle next, then Callahan, then Dubinsky? I only put Dubinsky last because he's proven to be a tough sign before.

I'd stake my money on Boyle, Callahan, Dubinsky yeah.

You have to believe management wants no part of arbitration for either player, but if they had to choose one to cave to, it would be Callahan. We can still retain Dubinsky's RFA rights for another year after an arbitrator's assigned contract, and get him locked up then. Losing Cally in a year would be disastrous, but a dream come true for his agent.

If I'm Sather, I give Callahan a Plekanec, Gionta, Roszival, or Pominville esque contract without even blinking an eye. 5 million per over 5-6 years. He is the leader of our team and he is capable of putting up 60+ points while playing an outstanding 2-way game, throwing his body around, outhustling everyone, and being a fantastic option on the PK and PP.

Screw it, give him 5.5 for 7 or 8 years. Overpayment? Maybe, but we can't afford to lose him anytime soon. With the salary cap going up, I give him a contract like that in a heartbeat. But that's just my opinion though, I'd probably be a ****** GM

Cally and Dubi are going to get very similar contracts, IMO. Id like to see maybe a slight overpay to lock Callahan up long term, but id say somewhere between 3.75-4.25 is gonna be the range.

Arbitration dates were released. Duby is the 21st, Boyle the 25th, and Cally the 28th. Why did they have to give Duby the early one... The NHL really does hate us

Given AA's numbers what's Boyle likely around? Double is around 1.1. He did have a real good year though.

It depends on the length of the contract....

2 years @ 1.1

3 years @ 1.35

Just a guess.

Yes, but everyone should know by now how anal I am about formatting. Well, I guess you guys can't see how many times I edit thread titles and my posts so they're just right, but needless to say, it's a lot.

Anyway, for Boyler, I'd venture to guess that it will be between $1.1M and $1.3M. More likely the lower end.

Boyle will be around 1.3-1.5 if it makes it to the hearing, I think.

Not after a 20 goal season, no.

If he goes to arb. he could reasonably land something like 2.35 on a 1 or 2 year deal.

I don't its anywhere near 30-40lbs. 15lbs if that. He's holding it out to the camera which makes it look bigger.

Woo....I don't have a problem with longer/more years but I hope the Cap hit is more like 4-4.5 M. and give us options to trade him down the road(even though as of TODAY I hope he retires a Ranger!)
5.5-4.75-4.25-3.75-3.5-3.5=4.2M Cap Hit
with Incentive clauses for Allstar/Stanley Cup Finals appearance to renegotiate.
I think the Rangers will go to arbitration with Dubinsky and then based on that Sign Callahan.

The Rangers aren't going to give Boyle a 1 year deal and have him become a group III next July. 2-3 year deal. Edmonton gave Ryan Jones 2 years/$3M which is group III money. 27 years old. Boyle is one year away from group III. Boyle and Jones have the same numbers.

$1.2M for his arbitration year and $3M for the next 2 years. 3 years/$4.2M. $1.4M cap hit.

Quote:
General manager Glen Sather seemed confident he could sign all five RFAs before the arbitration process began (Anisimov was the only one not arbitration eligible) and it seems a near certainty Boyle will get his new contract done before the arbitration date. The other two are likely to be a bit trickier, if only because they are seeking more money than the other three.

Boyle was tendered a qualifying offer of $605,00 but he could wind up with a deal worth about twice that annually.

Callahan was tendered at $2.4 million and Dubinsky at $2 million and both could be seeking deals around $4 million annually.
http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/r..._rangers_rfas/

There are so comparables for Callahan and Dubinsky to seek $4M per in a long term deal. Why are these two contracts different than the other contracts? Their group III years will be worth $4M-$4.5M.

Thanks Gross for information that everyone in the world could have figured out. Does he ever put out anything useful or new?
