What Leino did..anything beyond would be gravy which may happen. He should be an adequate stop gap measure with some intangibles that should help the team maybe more than Leino did. I think he is less of a risk than Zherdev was and should be more of regular albeit with 20 second shifts! On the PP he hopefully will be of most benefit...
I think Jagr scores 27 goals and 39 assists next year for Philly. He'll put up 66 points just to make Mario Lemieux feel even worse. JJ is going to surprise some people. He might even break 70 if all goes well. Heck, he might get 30 points on the man-advantage alone. Jagr will bury some of those pucks that Jeff Carter put into the glass or the goalie's chest.
he is not a threat to this team
any team with JAGR on it, takes pressure off the others
everyone will concentrate on JAGR's peformance all year long instead of Giroux or JVR's or even Briere's production
I think the success this season hinges on 1. Pronger staying healthy 2. JVR putting a full season of what he showed us during the playoffs (like 30 goals good) and 3. Getting 40-45 goals from Jagr and Voracek combined.
Those three factors (barring some sort of disastrous injury or huge letdown by another key guy like Giroux or Bryzgalov) I think will be the difference between a 4-5 seed or a 7-8 seed.
Jagr also won't even get a shot off on a lot of the goals Carter does score.
Oh really? Why is that? Are we talking about the same Jagr? The one who shredded Team USA in the WCs about 6 weeks ago? The Jagr who was considered one of the absolute best forwards at the 2010 Olympics? Yes, Jagr was playing in Russia (and certainly lost a step) but he still has awesome size and great hands. Jagr is 9th all-time in NHL scoring - and if he didn't leave for the KHL, he would currently be 4th or maybe 3rd. I didn't know Jeff Carter was Mike Bossy in his prime all of a sudden. I'll tell you one thing for sure - come playoff time, Jagr will surpass Carter's pathetic 0.4 points-per-game that he put up for Philly during his career.
If everything works out according to plan. Jagr scores 22g and 55pts.
If it works out disasterously. Jagr scores 12 goals 25 points, is injured 1/4 of the time and spends the other part of it in Laviolettes doghouse (3rd line / healthy scratch).
Well, the scouts and countless other hockey people have said that Jagr is in the best shape he's ever been in. I see no reason why he still can't be a point per game player. The big thing that I'm looking forward to is when he becomes a much needed mentor to Voracek and helps him get to the next level. I'll say Jagr gets 30 goals, 47 assists.

I'm gonna say, somewhere between that.
Yeah, I doubt Laviolette is going to make an example of Jagr. He does that and it would be career suicide for him. This isn't Zherdev he's dealing with - this is one of the most prolific and greatest scorers in the NHL he's dealing with. Big difference.

I don't see it happening at all, but if Jagr were to start going down this path, I honestly feel he would go the route of Brett Hull and Peter Forsberg - retire before his legacy is covered in slime. Lost in all of this is the fact that Jagr has something to prove and he will likely spend quality time on a line with van Riemsdyk and Giroux. A motivated Jagr playing alongside talent could be a deadly combo - even at age 39.

I still think there's a possibility of it happening, despite what you say. I guess that will all depend on Jagr's conditioning and willingness to buy into the system.
