Derek Jeter syndrome.

If he was as good as people say, he wouldn't need a #1 center to produce. It isn't like he's playing with scrubs, either.
Then why is Richards here?

It wouldn't be overly hard to mount the case that Lundqvist is overrated, but I'm not going there............

Oh yea, I know, but Gaborik hasn't put up better #'s than Nash except for his 2 80+ seasons. Not to say that should be overlooked, but Nash's size, scoring ability, defense, size, and scoring ability I'll take over Gaborik's "Snipe" that comes along with injury proneness, no size, and injury proneness any day of the week. Especially to play with Richards.

What does Richards have to do with Rick Nash?

Richards is here because the Rangers needed a #1 center.

People just can't take the word "overrated". They take it to mean, "that guy is average at best"

Who wants to try and argue Hank is overrated? Because he never won a Vezina?

Is Ryan Miller a better goalie than Lundqvist?

Nash has always impressed me when I see him play. The team around him is not so good. This upcoming season will be a better gauge of what kind of player he is.

He also needs to prove to rack up the point totals without Crosby in the lineup and he had the perfect opportunity to prove he's one of the league's elite defenseman. He was far from impressive against the Lightning in the playoffs too. Don't get me wrong he's a nice puckmover, but he isn't quite a #1 defenseman yet, same goes to Erik Johnson.

Agreed with Bieksa claim, his play dropped off after Hamhuis went down.

Also Nino, he wasn't impressive in his 9 game stint, but who knows maybe he did really well in juniors.
Bingo-we have a winner! Kris Letang sux defensively and is one of the dirtiest players on a team filled with them. Like his "O" but wood luv to see how many pts he'd put up playing on our team?

Agreed. I've grown tired of Derek's "intangibles" as well. Not to mention him and Datsuyk are both tangibly very good players.

Point is if Gaborik's so good and doesn't need a center and has produced with out one why is Richards here for that reason. Could Gaborik be overrated by those standards too?

Agreed with Nash, I don't he is quite the "Superstar" that people make him out to be. if u were to make a poll on Nash vs B.Richards based on who was a better player last season, then majority of people would have voted Nash AINEC.

Thatta boy, express your true feelings and opinions dude. You and I both know Queenie is overrated and his game hasn't improved one iota since his rookie year. When he carries us for one lousy playoff game let alone an entire series, I'll change my mind!

It's a sport that requires much intelligence and focus. You never know when they'll make another left turn.

Your Leafs avatar reminds me of a good example of how it comes down to treatment from fans. Phil Kessel is a great example. Take Kessel and Nash; fairly similar players statistically. One is treated like Mike Bossy, the other is widely considered to be the demon seed of Davy Jones, AKA "avoid at all costs".
