A motivated Jagr playing alongside talent could be a deadly combo - even at age 39.
And not to mention how infectious it would be for Giroux and JVR. If he plays with those two, I think something very special can happen.

I was talking to a colleague the other day about the effect Jagr could have on Voracek. Like Jaromir, Jakub has that big frame and Jagr can help teach him how to effectively protect the puck and find the seam. To your point, Giroux-to-Jagr on the PP has potential to be lights out.

Good article that mentions those connections between voracek and jagr. I think jagr could be a great mentor for voracek

I don't think he will have more than 15 goals but he will have a lot of assists.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. Even Kimmo getting Hartnell to buy into his team too.

I'm gonna say, somewhere between that.

Every once in awhile, a post comes along that sticks with you, one that you'll remember going forward due to it's content, and every time you see another post by that member, you always think of that one post that made you think, "Really?"

This is one of those posts for me.

My thoughts are similair to some others that I've seen. If he plays with Giroux and has good chemistry (which I think he will, the downlow cycle b/t those two should be outstanding), I see Jags hitting 25+ goals and 45+ assists. Based on stats alone, his on ice production will be around the numbers Richard's would putting up, b/t 65-80 points.

I agree with you BI. I have no idea what to expect. I am looking forward to see who he plays with and how he does on the PP.

I don't have a good feeling about Jagr. I don't think he'll pot more than 40 points (15 goals). On the other hand, he did almost score 125 points just 5 years ago.

And 71 about 3 years ago. That's not bad for a geezer.

This is exactly what I was thinking. If he scores 20 goals, I'll be pleased. I expect around 13 plus injuries.

I could easily see him putting up 20-60.

20 goals is a given for him assuming he is healthy all season long. The part where he will get all of his points is on the PP. He will most likely hang on the right side of the 1st PP unit and will be feeding Briere and Giroux all season long. As long as he is on the PP, he will definitely rack up 40+ assists just from touching the puck and getting secondary assists.

Many do not realize that some of Jagr's best hockey comes in his passing ability. He put up 40+ assists in 2007-08 with noone around him for the Rangers. 2006-07 and 2007-08 Jagr was constantly double and triple teamed because the Rangers had no other scoring threat and he was coming off his incredible 2005-06 season.

Even if he only puts up 15 goals, I expect 50-60 assists with the talent around him.

Holy ****!

I'll be happy with anything around 50 points; as was said, he's going to draw some heat away from line mates at least.

He chose Philadelphia because he still wants to be the go-to guy. I expect something around 70 points.

Jagr is 9th all-time in NHL scoring - and if he didn't leave for the KHL, he would currently be 4th or maybe 3rd. I didn't know Jeff Carter was Mike Bossy in his prime all of a sudden. I'll tell you one thing for sure - come playoff time, Jagr will surpass Carter's pathetic 0.4 points-per-game that he put up for Philly during his career.
I never said Carter was Mike Bossy in his prime but at the same time Jagr isn't even Jagr in his prime. If you think Jagr will be a more valuable player to the Flyers this season than Carter would have been then your insane. Don't give me the worlds BS. Do it in the NHL. Nitty was unreal in the Olympics a few years back, is he an NHL superstar? This is the NHL, not an allstar game. You have your opinion, I have mine. I say Jagr doesn't break 30 goals, Carter would likely have been around 35 with a better defensive game. We'll see come May who's right.
