He scored 42 2 seasons ago - and now he has Brad Richards. I know thats a lot of cognitive thinking for you, but try to put it together.

Gaborik 51 - 89 - In an ideal world, i'd like to agree, but I think that's pushing it. 40 to 45 would be a reasonable number
Dubinsky 32 - 62
Callahan 24 - 54
Richards 23 - 93
Stepan 22 - 61
Anisimov 21 - 52
Hagelin 18 - 39 - Never going to happen
Boyle 15 - 27 - Highly Doubt it
Fedotenko 12 - 33 - Not going to happen
Wolski 12 - 24
Prust 10 - 22 - Don't see Prust touching double digets
Christensen 8 - 16
Avery 6 - 21
Zuccarello 5 - 21
Rupp 4 - 8
Weise 4 - 6

Girardi 12 - 34 - His career high was 10 almost four years ago, doubt it
Staal 10 - 31
Del Zotto 9 - 23
McDonagh 8 - 27
Sauer 7 - 18 - Not seeing that either. I think 5 would be pushing it
Erixon 6 - 15
Valentenko 1 - 2

Who cares.

Wasn't the object to predict what each player is capable of?

Who said that's how it will be?

Highest I ever saw was a Devil's fan predicting something in the range of 380 goals last offseason with his cumulative totals.

Prust and Boyle both scored more last year.

People said Stepan wouldn't be in the NHL at this time last year. Hagelin has the ability to have a similar rookie season.

I overshot most of everyone. But the idea was to project what each guy is capable of, ceiling, no?

Stepan had/has a lot more offensive potential then Hagelin does. If Hagelin makes the roster, that would be more then an overshot.

Boyle netted 21 last season, but how many of those goals bounced off three players or were floaters that somehow got through. I've never seen someone score so many flukie goals before in one season. That's why I don't think he'll come close to what he did last season.

I'm gonna do goal ranges instead of exact numbers...

Gaborik: 35-45
Richards: 25-30
Callahan: 20-30
Dubinsky 20-25
Wolski: 20-30 (I really think he's gonna bounce back this season, especially if he gets a decent amount of time on the 1st line; one of my bold predictions)
Anisimov: 15-25
Stepan: 15-20
Boyle: 10-20
Zuccarello: 10-15
Fedotenko: 10-15
Avery: 5-10
Prust: 5-10
Christensen: 5-10
Rupp: 1-5

Staal: 5-15
Del Zotto: 5-10
Girardi: 5-10
Erixon: 5-10
McDonagh: 1-5
Sauer: 1-5

Dubi(32)-Richards(28)-Gabby(44) :104
Wolski(18)-Stepan(23)-Cally(30) :71
Boyle(15)-Anisimov(20)-Feds(10) :45
Avery(8)-Rupp(10)-Prust(8) :26
:246 forward goals
Staal(10) - Girardi(8)
McD(6) - Sauer(3)
Erixon(4)-MDZ(8) :39 D goals

285 goals total

We had like 224 with injuries and no Richards and a barely effective PP. without injuries maybe we get to 240 last year...then add Richards, a healthy Gabby, further development, a functioning PP and you get an improvement. 280s might be ambitious, but 260 is very possible which would have led the NHL.

Really, 34 goals separated us from Van...and our goals against were top 5. If Gabby Dubi and Cally stay healthy that probably gets us there. Then realise how badly our PP sucked. And then remember how many painful close losses we had or games where our offense just couldn't get it done. We're looking really good going into next year.

No, I think it's to predict what you think will actually happen.

As it was stated earlier, the top offensive team in the NHL (The Canucks) had 258 goals or so last season. While improved, I think it would be tough for this team to get over that mark.

Hope they do though!

I think it is perfectly possible for Gaborik to hit 50+ goals. He certainly has the talent for it, and now with a true number one center I don't see why this couldn't work aside from injuries.

But that's ok. Gaborik never gets injured. :

34 goals between us and them. We replaced EC with Richards. Our PP will be better. Cally won't miss a month. Gabby won't miss a month. Stepan and Anisimov will be better.

There's a lot of ways that we could improve by the 34 goals we were behind Van by last year. It's not as crazy as it sounds.
