Yeah sure, they sound a bit like bandwagoners. "Buffalo or bust" was something I saw on more than one occassion. Sounds like many fans were only fans/attending games in the past because A)it was Buffalo or B)Steven Donner was giving away freebees.

Wonder how happy they are about no longer being "locally" owned?

They weren't "locally" owned before. Curt Styres' operations are located on a Six Nations reservations in Ontario, Ohsweken I think but am not positive.

There is a reason why Detroit gave up on Leino, they don't tend to just give up on players. I think Detroit knows something the rest of us don't...

Whether you agree with the moves they're making or not, you can't possibly say that their free agency moves are similar to what they've done in the past.

OT as it may be, I'm happy Buffalo DIDN'T get Richards. Let him be yet another mistake the Broadway Bozos....ERRR, Rangers have made over the years. Re Leino: Yeah, 50 plus games is a true test of how well a player can do. As far as drinking the Kool-Aid...SabreFan has been drinking the #1 from prior owners for years.

Upstate people are a naive bunch, lol.

They already have the Stanley Cup Parade mapped out...

are the Sabres really that much bettter today than they were last year? I think by some but it's nothing major. It's not like they are a clear cut head and shoulders behind everyone else. If you look at it Buffalo and florida aren't all that different right now IMO in terms of potential standing. Only reason Buffalo made the Playoffs last year and the year before is Miller. Guy bombs when it matters though.

Leino was overpaid and i'm not even positive he's going to be anything of note. he wasn't that special in Philly and he had the tools to make him pretty good.

Reigher is an okay defensemen. He can throw around a check or two but i'm not blasted away by the guys overall skill set. Will be interesting to see how Ehrhoff performs without that stud cast he had in VAN.

You are correct, but whether they were ever locally owned doesn't really change my statement.

You're absolutely right... because I accidentally quoted your post instead of greenmenrule's. #multifailure

Since we're threatening to REALLY take this OT, this will be my last post on the matter unless we're talking about the Amerks.

GMR: No, I don't have the Stanley Cup parade mapped out. Far from it. And I'm not naive. Buffalo does still have question marks-namely, offense. But what I will say is this: The D's a hell of a lot better than it was. And as far as Miller disappearing when it matters most, I have 2 words for you: Roberto. Luongo. Try disputing THAT.

Albany raised tickets prices, then Lou L got his hands in the concession pot somehow, taking .50 from everything bought- neither ARAMark nor the county were going to eat that, prices went up .50.

As far as Dino BBQ goes, the food went downhill after George Soros bought it and turned it into a chain. The one in Troy is a great building, big anticipation- but the food was average at best. Big disappointment the first time, I gave it a second chance- same. Planty of good stops in the Rochester and Syracuse joints before games over the years too.

In Rochester the Red Osier roast beef sandwich inside the arena is excellent as far as AHL arena food goes.

Heh, I didn't know that. So is it going to be $1.50 dog night? Not quite so catchy. Besides, Aramark food is awful.
