I would be disapointed with less than 70 points. Flyers signed $5M player for ‎$3.3M. I dont think Jagr will score too many goals (I would expect around 20-25), but he will have lots of assists (50+). And his linemates will definitely profit from his presence in the line (no matter if its Briere and Hartnell or JVR and Giroux) which will lead to a significant growth of points they are used to.

24 layers in the league had 70 or more points. So you will be disappointed if he is not in the top 25 in scoring??

Exactly. I really expect him to be among 25 top scoring players. I have seen him many times during the last season in KHL and also every match for national team and I am pretty sure that he is still able to be one of the team leaders (if he stayes healthy, which is likely considering his whole career).

I expect about 25 goals and 35 assists. 10 pp goals and 15 pp assists. The pp goals and pp points would be higher than any Flyer last year.

The very thought of Jagr in O&B makes me ill.

I totally expect him to be a PPG player. It wouldn't surprise me if he led the team in scoring. I know he's old. I also know he's instantaneously the most purely talented guy in the league the second he steps back into it.

I think people are hugely underestimating what he can do.

I hope he is our best player, I do believe that we will not make the playoffs this year so we can move him at the deadline for prospect and a pick

Stop it. There are a few guys who's talents rival Jagr's at his peak, and haven't yet begun to erode with age. Crosby, Ovie, Stamkos, etc.

I fall into the group that is expecting something like 20-25 goals and 30-35 assists. If he does this I will be happy, if he exceeds these numbers than I will be extremely pleased. I find it very interesting how confident some feel in him. I sure hope you guys are right!

Yeah, there seems to be a surprising amount of people predicting 50 points or less. I can say for an absolute fact, based on what I've seen, that he's a lock for 60 points, and 70+ should be expected.

I could see this too, infact i could see numerous guys get traded in the middle of the year, especially if it looks like its going to be a disaster.

Wow, while I hope you're right, I think you're setting yourself up for major disappointment. This isn't Jagr circa 2004. While he is still talented, I'm sure he's slowed down a bit.

Lazer-baby is getting really pissed at some of the things being said in this thread.

It's just people being cautious.. He's a spectacular talent, but the guy hasn't played in this league for years. He's not used to having guys like Volchenkov and Orpik smash into him as he tries to do his job, you know? That sort of environment leads to more tentative play or even injury; hence the 50 point predictions.

My expectations are not for his points, but his presence. Though he has not played in the NHL for a couple seasons, the fact remains that he is ****ing JAGR. It is difficult to downplay the role of a veteran and the wonders he can for the production of a team. We have several developing power forwards on our team now with offensive edges, who better for those guys to play with in the game TODAY than Jaromir Jagr? Even if he is here a year, fine, regardless he can teach our guys a thing or two in almost every department. The fact is other players can make other players exponentially better (see Crosby/Guerin). Even though he is 39, the man knows how to compete and he knows what it takes. He may not be able to do the things he used to, but he can still show others. So I expect Jagr to help a lot of our players grow and put up a few points while he's at it as well.

The only guy on that list that has as much innate talent as Jagr is Crosby. Ovechkin is a superstar likely HOF lock in his mid twenties, but he doesn't come close to being as purely talented as Jagr. And get out of here with Stamkos. These are all great young players that are going to outscore Jagr this upcoming season, but they aren't as naturally talented.

When you are the most naturally gifted athelete in your sport, it goes a long way even when you are old and out of shape. I'll never forget Gretzky completely done at the end of his career throwing up an 80 point season in the dead puck era like it was no big deal or Mario coming back old and casually throwing up a PPG.

Don't get me wrong. I HATE Jaromir Jagr. I am NOT excited about this upcoming season. I am not counting on this team to do anything. All that said, I would be surprised if he didn't do a PPG.
