I would hope the NHLPA is finding specialists, not associated with either team for Fraser to go and see. Feeling bad for him right now and hope someone is on his side.

If Lombardi learned a few days after acquiring Mike Richards that he was injured, would he be complaining about Holmgren to everyone willing to listen?
Definately love this statement. Maybe I'm missing the point on all of this but wasn't the Smyth trade in some way a salary dump? I know Lombardi would have liked to have him, especially for this season at a playoff run but everything I had heard originally when Brule was going to go was that there was going to be a buyout anyways. Fraser's salary isn't exactly that high that you need to complain this much about it.

If in fact you do want to play him he's not going to miss an extreme amount of time if he had surgery right now. 4 months would only go about a month or so into the regular season and I'm sure the Kings have someone to fill Fraser's "unique" role until he's back.

The issue is Lombardi doing this thing through the media since the day Smyth's trade request became public. Regardless of who conned who, that just doesn't appear very professional.

Tambellini has made one necessary comment on it and he doesn't owe anyone anything more than that, yet Lombardi keeps running his mouth. That's the problem. Not the actual deal, because we're not privy to the details of that.
Could it be that Fraser never told the Oilers about the condition?

I agree with you, but I have a feeling regardless of Outcome; King Lombardi is still going to cry about it to the media.

I dont have any medical conditions but if I did I wouldnt want it being reported on twitter and the LA Times
If I was Brule I would definitely be looking into what my options were...

That is a possibility. Or (another scenario) where Fraser himself did not know about the "blood disorder" condition.

I haven't read any of the thread so not sure if anybody said this but in my opinion Lombardi shouldn't be griping in the media about the situation.

In fact if I'm the Oilers I send Doughty an offer sheet as a sort of payback. LA will sign it but then it does handcuff them with big contracts for Kopitar, Richards, JJ, Doughty and Co.

If they don't match then Edmonton hits pay dirt. If they do they then it limits LA's future cap flexibility.

Win-win in my opinion for the Oilers and sweet payback in the process.

Yes it's a risk when Hall and Co. come time to sign up but if the Oilers are proactive in getting their key players signed ahead of time then we reduce the risk of it biting us in the a**. Plus by limiting LA's future flexibility they probably won't be in position to send an offer sheet to our key guys

A strange sentiment you're expressing here. You can't be bothered to read anyone else's opinions, but you'd like to share yours.
