Guess nobody told Eklund that LA doesn't have a football team.

Nor was it particularly shocking that those two firsts turned into very high picks, given the state of the Leafs roster.

Heres my brilliant suggestion.

Carle, Bob 2nd round pick or prospect to PHX for Larsson.

Take Schenn off the roster as he has a 2 way contract, lappy on LTIR and you have about 9.3 mil in space. Sign Stamkos to an 8.25 mil offer sheet (if they match it just bring Schenn back up, if not we give up the picks and have a top 5 scorer) trade a 5th round pick to NYI for Nabokov to backup to 570k. Bam, all star team.

Oh and Waive Shelley.

FORWARDS
James Van Riemsdyk ($1.654m) / Steven Stamkos ($8.250m) / Claude Giroux ($3.750m)
Scott Hartnell ($4.200m) / Daniel Briere ($6.500m) / Jaromir Jagr ($3.300m)
Wayne Simmonds ($1.750m) / Maxime Talbot ($1.750m) / Jakub Voracek ($2.250m)
Tom Sestito ($0.550m) / Blair Betts ($0.700m) / Andreas Nodl ($0.845m)
Matt Read ($0.900m)

DEFENSEMEN
Kimmo Timonen ($6.333m) / Chris Pronger ($4.921m)
Andrej Meszaros ($4.000m) / Andreas Lilja ($0.737m)
Braydon Coburn ($3.200m) / Oliver Ekman-Larsson ($1.750m)
Oskars Bartulis ($0.600m)

GOALTENDERS
Ilya Bryzgalov ($5.666m) / Evgeni Nabokov ($0.570m)

We all knew what the trade was going to be.

That's a whole lot different than calling it minutes before it was official. There's a difference between calling a trade and speculating on what the trade will be. Eklund called the trade several minutes before it was reported by everyone else.

I dont care if you like him or not, give him credit when it's due...

If its regarding the Flyers or Devils EKlund usually knows something. He called the Kovy to the Devils trade 2 days before it happened and called the Richards trade before anyone.

And Billy, I know it works lol, I would pray to get it could happen.

Credit for what? Aside from the Philly trades he hasn't called anything. He shouldn't get any credit. If anything, people need to start taking *************** more seriously. He's broke a lot of things that ACTUALLY happened.

Anything Eklund should be banned from HF.

Yeah but none of those teams drive the economy of downtown LA...

My brother lives out in LA and he says almost nobody cares about the kings. It is all Lakers, Dodgers, and USC football. He even says that people just like the Lakers because its a trendy thing to do and that the Dodgers fans are the real hard-core sports fans out there.

That's just completely false. Eklund has called plenty of deals.

Some people only see what they want to see.

The reality is, Eklund is wrong a lot more than he is right, but that doesnt mean that he isnt right when he is right.

Right?

Eklund should get a lot more credit. The man does have sources, though he does post some incredibly stupid **** pretty often. But when he's on, he can call things pretty well. So, he is CREDIBLE, just not CONSISTENT. Caps to make a point here, children.

The thing is that Eklund doesn't say XYZ is going to happen. He says, he has heard that people are talking about XYZ. And crap like that. The stuff he says he never actually says is going to happen. Some people say that he is taking the easy way out by not making "real" predictions because he isn't saying it WILL happen, but I think he is doing exactly what he says he is doing...reporting everything he hears. 99% doesn't come true, but he doesn't say that all his rumors are done deals. If hears that Sather called Burke and said what will it take to get Kadri he reports it. Nothing may ever get done, but if that happened, he reports it. People act like Eklund says everything he says he heard will happen, when that is clearly not the case if you actually read his posts.

IM not here to argue weather or not the man is credible, but i thought this website might interest you. I was found it the other day , and after reading it I was able to form a pretty strong opinion on the matter.

Eklund putting out every rumor he hears makes his percentage low. His whole thing is to report rumors without much of a filter. That person's argument was flawed considering it didn't address the idea of how many of those rumors could be true but just fall through before talks get serious. That website does nothing but bash him on the primes that all of his rumors are lies. He did very little to prove him to be a liar.

AHAHAHA. That's the funniest thing I've ever read. There's not a man alive that could turn down Shania Twain.

Btw, just send us Giroux, Bob and Carle, we'll call it a done deal
