Sent the PM. Like I said before.. I got an invite from another friend, and it just would not let me make a G+ account. It would only allow me to sign myself up for updates, to keep posted on it.

HOW!??!?!?!
I must be doing something wrong.. So I check my GMail, see something about a Google+ post was made, and someone shared it with me. I click view post, and then click the big red join button. Then I get redirected to the page where I can put in my email and name to keep posted about G+. Am I missing something?!

Did you get an original invite email from the original poster?
If you did, then go back to that, and click the button within the email. That should allow you to register.

So there doesn't seem to be a direct link to one's Google+ page to share with others, correct? You basically need someone's name or email address? Am I missing something?

Does it? I mean, it's still an early version.
I'm not using it because I'm not entirely sure I trust Google with a profile of my personal info.

Still an early version, sure, but it's still underwhelming for a testing phase. There shouldn't be an invite process, it should be public. A social network that is invite only is very... lonely.

Step 1 to creating a hot online buzz: Make people wait inline (exlusivity)
Just like gmail and google voice it will open up. And yes it is impressive. Being able to seperate your friends and organize your stream is really cool. Try a "hangout" once you get some friends on there. You can even watch youtube videos together (not real useful but neat none-the-less).

Don't try to change my mind with rational arguments and good points.
