Flyers New White Jerseys

So I was scrolling through the NHL Shop and came across these:

http://shop.nhl.com/product/index.js...y_bestsell_txt

Had to buy one. I think they look super slick.

Is this a new jersey they will unveil?

Eh. I'm not big on those. I'd love if they took the black name plates off the ones they have now and just use black lettering.

We had a thread on this a while ago and everyone said it probably wasn't.

Anyway, I really hope they aren't, it's so plain it's disgusting

Hmmm, I guess I'm the only one then. For 45 bucks, I had to buy it.

I mean really. Really? Maybe I'm just a uniform geek but I'd think fans of their team would know what is and isn't an actual jersey worn by their team.

I know they haven't worn it. Was wondering if it was going to be their new white jersey or not.

Just Premier style fashion jerseys similar to St. Pat's type green jerseys...Definitely not in the on-ice future...

It's not ever going to be used on the ice... it's just a random jersey design by Premier.

If you notice the price, it's on clearance... that's because it's older, it's never going to be worn on ice, and it probably wasn't very popular.

They were introduced midseason 2010-11, and they sold about 6 of them at full price of $89 (the page says $79.99, but I thought they were $89.99). They were not popular, have not been worn by the team and are not slated to ever be worn by the team. Not even sure if the logo is ironed on like the numbers and letters.

Trust me on this... whenever the Flyers, or any other team for that matter, rolls out a new jersey that they will wear on ice and SELL to the fans they bring out the red carpet and blare the trumpets so to speak... They never, never ever just let it leak out on a seller's website by chance.

For example: Boston Winter Classics rolled out with great fanfare at SkateZone with some player participation... Initial release of Reebok Edge also released there as well as pre-sale campaign... Orange Thirds sold on pre-sale at STH Meet The Flyers Event and also had great hoopla... White Retro released with fanfare at SkateZone also with Richards sporting his... More than once this being done to coincide with Black Friday and Christmas sales.

... What's the chance that white jersey you found at half price is the next Flyers Third jersey?

The numbers and letters are NOT even ironed on... they are screenprinted and heat sealed per the description on the website:

"Screenprinted name and number graphics are heat-sealed to the jersey."

45 bucks tells you that it's not real.

I don't like the look of those things at all.

I'd be all for keeping our current Home and Aways for the next 10 years or so.

Does that mean you can rip the numbers and letters off and just take it to get new ones sewed in?

Actually, the opposite... You cannot take them off to replace them.

It is like the old NFL jerseys where it is rubberish numbers that are applied to the material... like spray painted on... here is no way on Earth to remove them and still have any sort of clean base, as far as I can see.

For adult regular jerseys that is not anything you would want... BUT, IMO, on a jersey like that that is not meant to be a true replica of an NHL on-ice jersey it is fine... since you are not going for a replica anyway.

Of course that is only my opinion... I believe people should wear whatever they like without worry.

I know I'm in the vast minority but I really liked the first white edge jersey of ours.
