I think the glowing reports from prospect camp have buoyed McIlrath's stock. I'm sure he'd still easily find himself top ten without the great reports, but I'd wager it bought him a few spots.

Based off of what? Having seen him play, I'll take him over everyone in the poll right now without thinking about it much. His upside is greater than everyone left in our prospect pool.

I remember when Stepan was selected. The same stupid things were said then, too.

People are going to be very sad when we lose Valentenko to waivers this year.

I'm going to be furious when the Islanders claim him. This guy should be our 3rd pairing LD, or #7 defender at the very least. He's the WARRIOR.

Meh. I just don't care about the guy, to be honest. We have much better prospects than him. I'd rather use a vet as the 6/7 than an unproven guy in Tank.

I'm pretty sure this year neither was much better than each other. Coupled with Valentenko's physical play, supposed shot, and big size it's perfectly justifiable Valentenko is considered a better prospect.

I like Kundratek, too. But neither of them have really high upside, IMO. I expect both of them to be 3rd pairing guys, maybe a 2nd pairing tweener in k-tek. Great depth guys, however.

I definitely think Kundratek was better in this, his first professional season. He's also two years younger. I think he's definitely the better prospect.

I don't dislike Valentenko, I just think he's over-hyped here.

And Kundratek plays the right side, not the overloaded left, which should not be overlooked.

He should stick around as a #7. Considering his significant experience at the AHL and KHL level, I doubt he has anything left to learn in the minor leagues.

I think watching and playing part-time would be better for his development than going back to Hartford. This is his final frontier.

He should also learn to play both sides, left and right. A 6-7 defenseman cannot survive long without being ad to step in on both sides.

Honestly, if we could get any kind of value for Valentenko, even a 4th and a 7th round picks, I would trade him away and just sign Eminger.
