Kaz is out and so is the $14.5 mil. What a waste of dinero. Something is definately wrong with the GM performances on trades... ie... Gary Matthews Jr, Kaz, and now Wells.
Anyhow, the Angels are still looking for offense. Help? Doubt Trout will be brought up or Cron. lol
Walden lost that game with the walks, but the umpire nailed the coffin shut with legal blindness. Please bring in more replay so these old fools can sit in their rockers.
No replays for baseball. Fkn umpire should have seen that he was out when the runner had to touch the plate after he was already thrown out. If he was safe from the slide, then he shouldn't have touched home plate with his hand.

Why is baseball more special than any of the other three leagues?
You can't have a replay on every single play. What the home plate umpire should have done in that situation was bring in the other umpires to discuss the play. During the post season, they add two more umpires to cut down on blown calls. Too many baseball purists out there will shoot down instant replay. Walden shouldn't have put us in that situation anyways.

They shouldn't have replay for every play, but they should on potential scoring plays.

Yep and I thought it was over after Vernon's homer.
Btw how often MLB TV has those free games? I liked the quality...and I might buy some months if Angels start going good.
I squarely blame this on Mathis for play calling the pitches. Instead of throwing strikes, we get walks. Crazy. Walden has been shaky the past two outings. Who cares if he got his first win of the season. He earn that first win by blowing a save!
Game was in the bag, but walks by your closer sucks major rear bottoms.
Not overly concerned about Walden. Here's a breakdown of his last three blown saves:
Florida: He gets called in for a 5-out save with men on the corners. That's a rough situation for anyone. Sure, he gives up a soft liner, but then gets the next 5 guys out, so whatever.
Dodgers: He was legit bad, but considering how on he's been the last what... 9 appearances?... he was due for a bad start. Even the great Mariano Rivera has bad stretches. Give Walden more time, he's still a rookie.
Nationals: He easily gets two guys out, then makes one mistake pitch. I don't know if he missed location or Espinosa was just guessing and got lucky. Either way it's one pitch, not terribly worried about it.
Overall, Walden is a rookie. Remember when he had that one bad stretch of like 4 blown saves? Well he went to the tape, saw something wrong in his mechanics and fixed it, then became unhittable for almost a month. He's got a plus plus fastball, a plus slider, and he's working on a changeup, all the tools he needs to be a shutdown closer. Give him time, he'll get it together.
