Reason: Changed tag from confirmed to rumor.
Isn't this still a rumor until the NHL actually announces re-alignment, or at least lets it leak through a source like Bob Mc? I think the whole "confirmed with link" tag is being abused this summer
I'm actually okay with this, often times we'd be the 2nd best team in the division. Potential rivalries with Dallas and Minnesota. Chicago is a nice O6 draw in. St. Louis and Columbus are going to be hated no matter what.
Hey, Preds fans, Hawks fan here. I believe that Nashville and Chicago will be making runs for the division for years to come. I think right now, we're the top dogs. Things could change with development, trades, and current player improvements, but our two teams could do the same.
I am increasingly pissed off that folks keep interpreting that "maybe" as "definitely". But we already have a thread on our board for that one.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
I read on yahoo that Nashville and Detroit were heading East in the realignment.
"The NHL's realignment, slated to kick in after next season, will apparently see the Predators jumping to the Eastern Conference, with at least the Red Wings. Keeping Detroit as a conference rival is important to Nashville because of the Red Wing draw."
This is directly from their site. Hope I was allowed to do this. If not sorry for the copy and paste.
Not a fan. We need to either stay with Detroit, or go east. Preferably east. With this proposal, we lose the Wings in the building 4-6 times, still have to play a bunch of games in the middle of the night 3 time zones over, and pick up Minnesota and Dallas (meh, whatever).
The only teams that can replace the Red Wings draw for us would be teams like NY, Boston, Pitt, Philly, etc.
The basic debate in this is time zone vs. travel distance. While it's nice to all be in the same time zone, Dallas to Winnipeg and Winnipeg to Dallas six times a year is brutal.
