Who says Perry Pearn hasn't done a good job? That ragtag bunch of cripples the Habs threw in to replace their injured regulars di bettwe than expected.

Big Birds last year here he was paired with Eric Desjardins and it was great for Desjardins. Not just PK of course but also Weber, Emelin, and everybody else, maybe even Markov.

Players that could surely still help some teams. Here is the list of 10 best forward and defense still available, with the teams that they are linked to according to my sources:

Top 10 UFA forwards (excluding Selanne who will either retire or resign with the Ducks)

10) Cory Stillman: NSH,CAR,WPG

9) Sergei Samsonov: FLA,NYI

8) Marek Svatos: OTT,CGY,COL

7) John Madden: NJ, DET, MIN

6) Mike Modano: DAL,PHI,STL

5) JP Dumont: MTL, TB, LAK

4) Alex Kovalev: MTL

3) Chris Drury: TOR,MTL,PHI,NSH,NYI

2)Nikolai Zherdev: NSH,CGY

1)Vaclav Prospal: NYR, SJ, EDM, CGY

Best 10 UFA d-men:

10) Shane o’brien: PIT,VAN

9) Craig Rivet: NYR

8) Anton Straalman: CHI, CBJ

7) Steve Staios: BOS, EDM, WPG

6) Shane Hnidy: WPG, BOS, PHO

5)Niklas Wallin: SJ,VAN,CAR

4)Nik Boynton: CHI,CBJ

3)Brent Sopel: CBJ,CGY

2)Scott Hannan: MTL,FLA,TB

1)Bryan McCabe: CBJ,CGY,OTT,PHO.NYI
Wow. Scraping from the bottom of the barrel.

Shane O'Brien or no one.

It stems from the Rags board and their character assassination towards Pearn. The whole board came into a consensus that he was responsible for their inept PP. He was their scapegoat. Some Habs fans caught on and thus it still exists in some corners of the universe.

I have nothing but good things to say about Pearn. Our whole coaching staff has done great things considering our inability to stay healthy.

I love the way you described our "ragtag bunch of cripples".

I have no issues with Pearn, like Overlords mentioned, you really can't complain about our PK.

I see what you did there..

But seriously, did I miss something? Isn't Larry under contract with the Devils?

Cunneyworth would be great to stay in Hamilton, Larry with that young defence would be awesome

Larry's still with the Devils and I think he's happier there (sadly).

Happier? I dunno. But more relaxed? Definitely. I remember reading that he has a heart condition or something and that it was a factor in him not keeping a job in the montreal organization.

Pearn hasn't done a bad job, done very well actually. The day he gets canned is the day Martin gets canned as well

How do you figure? He doesn't have a pile of concussions in his history...plus he signed a 1 year deal so the risk is very minimal.

Huh? Did we not have some of the best special teams in the NHL the last 2 years despite Markov missing like 110 games?

I'm just suggesting that Robinson is a better defensive coach than Pearn but I think our problems of getting the puck out of the defensive end are because of our strategy. Our PK is good though.

Wow, where does this crap come from? You know who you can thank for PK's progression, himself. It would take a special kind of idiot to mess that guy up.

Subban pretty much said so himself. You'd have to be living in a cave to not see how much Gill helped him out over the last year.

Subban would have been good regardless, but the fact that he was able to be so good, so quickly has a lot to do with his playing with Gill. He was able to pinch and not worry too much about getting out of position since Gill would be able to cover any mistakes that were made.
