I think that was a result of him playing center and not matching up well against the likes of Joe Thornton, Joe Pavelski and Logan Couture.

He should do better as a winger playing with Stoll and Clifford. He'll bring some much needed speed and tenacity to that line. I thought Richardson played his best when he was playing wing with Handzus and Simmonds.

He'll be a player counted on as being the first one to the puck due to his advantage in speed. He's not the most physical nor the strongest, but he can use his skating to pressure opposing defensemen and force turnovers while Clifford handles the rough stuff and Stoll plays the role of the defensively responsible center (which he excels at).

Oh come on, he's our worst defensive player by a long shot. I think DL would be better defensively if he laced up his skates. Hopefully he has really worked on his defense.

Solid signing, good to see Richie wants to be apart of the team.

Never said he was great defensively, but to be that critical of a guy who was playing out of position and against some of the best in the game just isn't fair.

A bit surprised that he's signed but nonetheless, a good signing.

Richie could be the insurance for Gagne if and when he goes down as long as he doesn't become a liability on defense.

Well, we're not even close to talking about great defensively. He was pretty horrid. But, as I said, hopefully he's gotten better. I just don't think it's a stretch that quite a few of our prospects are probably already better. Or that lewis is quite a bit better.

He did take on Selanne, so it's got to count for something.

That's giving more props to Selanne, not Richardson

Yep.

And Selanne landed the hardest punch.

Probably one of the top 5 best players in the playoffs...hopefully he can rebound from a so-so regular season and get back to 2009 form with 11 goals.

Great contract number. I want more from him though.
I want consistency and more goals against teams not named Colorado.

I agree, if he gets consistent time with Clifford and Stoll, he needs 15+ goals. This is what was expected from Simmonds as the #3RW.

I expect 45+ goals from the 3rd line next season. Last year the Kings only got 31 goals from their third liners.

I think it is feasible and attainable for that line. Clifford, Stoll and Richardson are all capable of potting 15+ goals.

Last season Stoll averaged 17:10 in ice time and scored 20 goals and 43 points.

Clifford averaged 9:30 in ice time and scored 7 goals and 14 points. His ice time increased to 13:13 in the playoffs and he scored 3 goals and 5 points in 6 playoff games.

Brad Richardson averaged 11:46 in ice time and scored 7 goals and 19 points. With more ice time for Clifford and Richardson, that 15 goal mark is not out of reach.

Richie hasn't played a single game as a RW as a king. I know Hammonds also has Richie penciled in as a RW but I highly doubt Richie plays there.

TM likes to mix up the lineups a lot but he doesn't play players out of their position. That is unless his name is Ted Purcell.

As long as he steps up his defense this is good. Otherwise not so much

Agreed. I personally prefer Lewis as the third line right wing. He is better defensively and that is a position he is comfortable and used to playing.

I'm pretty sure he played a good chunk of his games as right wing in his first season here. That season was a disaster for him though and I'm sure having to play RW was a part of it.

I like Lewis there as well although, I still want to see Holloway get a shot there as well but most likely Lewis will win the 3RW.

Richie will probably bounce around between 3LW, 4LW and 4C as well as some top 6 spot if someone goes down.

You know, you just might be right about that. I had totally forgotten about his horrendous and abbreviated first season with us.

Last two seasons, Richie hasn't played a single game at a RW spot. Parse did play a game or two at 3RW and didn't look out of place.
