The White team edged the Blue team in a shoot-out, 3-2, during the Blue-White scrimmage at Rangers Training Camp on Saturday. Thomas Pöck and Fedor Tyutin scored for White in regulation play while Hugh Jessiman and Garth Murray added goals for Blue. In the shoot-out period, Michael Nylander, Jamie Lundmark and Martin Straka scored for White. Hugh Jessiman and Bryce Lampman notched shoot-out goals for the Blue Team. Chris Holt tended goal for the White team and Al Montoya minded the net for Blue.
There is nothing wrong with Hugh Jessiman spending the entire season in Hartford. Two other 2003 first round picks Dustin Brown and Ryan Kesler were not hurt by playing in the AHL.Same thing with Al Montoya.Look at Hannu Toivonen who spent two seasons at Providence and Cam Ward who played for Lowell last season.Brown missed most of the 2003-04 season with an ankle injury just as Jessiman did in 2004-05
Well it sounds to me that they've been on Jessiman to go to the net. And it's a good that he puts one in. As of now the way camp has gone him and Montoya are both headed for Hartford. Good seasons there and a cup of coffee here sometime during the year for both of them is what I'm hoping to see.
