Nice! I'm totally going with a yellow hoodie once released.

That yellow looks much better than the highlighter cell phone pic.

Agreed, it's more gold, at least it looks that way.

For those of us that are wanting to be there but can't, they should stream this on the website.

that middle pic with the shirt against the hat just kind of confirms my distaste for this color.

the yellow on the hat brim is crisp and clean and yellow..........the shirt is a horrible muddy goldish orange yuck.......

You'll look great in it! Orange isn't that bad.

Excellent. I had planned on going but got sidetracked by less important but harder to avoid real life issues.

Even in those pictures it's hard to tell. It's low light, with an accent light above the item making it really dark. I say we, attempt, to hold all all criticism until the real thing comes out. I love that they're bringing back the yellow/gold. It's something that made the team really unique, and when they changed to silver/black they just looked like everyone else. I'm pumped. Can't wait till 9pm. (est for me)

That's just the lighting. Look closely. Half of the brim of the hat is the same color as the shirt because of the shadow. They will be the same color under normal lighting.

Did someone say that the press conference would be streamed live? Doesn't seem to be anything on the website.

Someone earlier said they SHOULD stream it, but not that they were going to.

Cotton shirts look one way in certain lighting, an airknit (Edge 2.0) jersey will look different, an Edge 1.0 will present yet a different appearance. Until the real sweaters are seen on the ice, we're all just ASSUMING what the real thing will look like in action.

Sorry ... I don't do knee-jerk reactions. Logic has it's strong points.

The road jerseys looked o.k. at the draft but look terrible on the pre-order sites. I'm expecting the same with the home jerseys ... not perfect ... not horrendous ... and not how the final product will look on the ice.

Hah. This goes out to you AtlantaWhaler.

Praise twitter. The only way I can keep up with the press conference. Who controls the Cellblock303's twitter account anyway?

I saw on forechecker that they expect the Atlanta market to split Carolina and Nashville games.

The jerseys look great in person. TV and pictures make it look orange, but it is truly yellow. I'm a big fan.

It was a great moment. The fan said he was a "free agent" from Atlanta and the crowd gave him a huge standing O. Trotz told him how much better we were than carolina and welcomed him to Smashville. Gnash brought him a hat and christened him. I saw numerous pred heads shaking hands with him and whatnot afterwards.

I left the SOTU more pumped than I thought I would. Poile and Trotz outlined how young of a team the 2011-12 will be, but this is the "window of opportunity" for everyone to step up and have career years. Poile spoke VERY confidentily regarding a signing of The Captain, then Sutes, then Peks, while Trotz mentioned teams who overpaid their payrolls having to drop players (thus being on the PREDS radar). The new home jersey unveiling was a marketing coup, IMO. Not only was the plaza outside the Bridge filled with everyone looking at the "Bat Building" for the new banner to be displayed, but the crowds outside at neighboring bars were looking as well to see what was going on!! No doubt I had a 180 degree conversion from seeing the jersey from the pic to being worn by Suuuuuter and BAM BAM (and even Mayor Karl Dean), not to mention the updated goal song video with Mr. McGraw sporting the gold. 85 nights to go.....LET'S PLAY SOME HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll back this up. It was an incredible day, and while some of us lament the "slow and steady" approach, I always think about the Florida Panthers and their perpetual state of rebuilding because they can't stick to a plan.
