Put me in the Wolski camp. Anyone know if the NYR are planning to buy him out?

Check him out:

We have been terrible at the shoot-out for long enough. Time to fix it. Besides, he's only 25...he's just coming into his own. He could potentially be a long term replacement for Huselius.

Edit: Ok, how the eff do you post a You-Tube link?? : )

why is this franchise so GD'd cursed...can't win for nothing...

If we didn't trade Johanson for Carter, there's no way in hell we trade him for a top six forward. Johanson is probably up there with Nash and RJ as far as likeliness of getting traded.
i don't see us moving a top six player for anything now...i agree we'll get a 2/3 guy and i think we should probably try to get another reclaimation project

great, now we're gonna brule him...keep him on the seguin plan, and don't change that plan

might not be a bad idea...might be the "reclaimation project" above

Although it sucks to lose Huselius, if Howson indeed finds a replacement for Huselius then things don't look to bad. If the Jackets are in hte playoff hunt in January and Huselius is ready to return, we would be adding 1 extra weapon to the lineup. only question is, how long will it take for him to get back into game shape without playing for a long time?

This Huselius injury just frustrates me to no end towards GMSH. It is just ridiculous to think this team had enough NHL depth to compete over an entire season. Howson just can't rely on AHL players to compete against NHL talent in the Western Conference. If there is a silver lining, the injury happened when it did forcing GMSH to add some NHL talent to this roster. He needs another dman also since the top 4 will likely miss 40 games due to injury.

It would have been nice to enjoy the buzz of GMSH's summer deals and just worry and bicker about "the last few pieces." Hard to avoid a bit of a persecution complex when the breaks go against the team like this.

So who are the top draft prospects for 2012?

Prospal. The guy plays hard when it's a contract year and he can still bring it (23 points in 29 games last year). Do it Howson...

It's no big deal to have Vermette take face-offs, then move to the wing. Brassard didn't take face-offs for a long time after he hurt his hand last season.

I, for one, am very conflicted because Juice is the type of player who we now desperately need but at the same time, I couldn't stand him. So depending on who we pick up, this could be a blessing in disguise.

I can't figure out why so many people here are so against the idea of Nik Zherdev returning, yes he was drafted before some players that would have been nice to have (including a guy we have now) but hindsight is always 20-20. His last season as a Blue Jacket he was a nice point producer and started to do all the small things and same as his year as a Ranger. I was heavily against trading him and if we could get him back i'd be extremly happy.

Z has thrown Molotov cocktails at the bridges in New York and Philadelphia. I suspect his did that here too. It may not matter much, isn't he in jail?

What do you think the CBJ would have to give up to get Semin?

Prospal would probably be my first choice, although Zherdev is still intriguing.

Steve Mason, and the Caps would have to throw either one of Holtby or Neuvirth in the deal.

Nobody wants Alexander Semin - my guess is once he's finally burned the bridge to Washington, he'll be headed to the KHL. One dimensional goal scorer, literally nothing else to his game.

Does anyone seriously think Zherdev has a snowballs chance in hell?

And on a side note: Some bloggers are suggesting players that have never played in the NHL as top 6.

I think I'm on the Vinny Prospal train. He missed a lot of last year with a knee injury but came back and produced from February onward.
