Pacioretty is going to be a star for years to come and I still think that the hit was intentional and Chara meant to do it, I also think that the Bruins players were happy it happened.
Lastly, this will make Pacioretty a better and stronger player and I still believe (since his first training camp in Montreal) that he is capable of being a 40 goal scorer in this leage with the right centre.
He didn't get hurt at the end of the game. He got hurt at the end of the 2nd period with 16 seconds remaining. They played these 16 seconds at the beginning of the 3rd period. How can we forget this. The Bruins kept bullying us for the remaining of the game despite what happened to Pacioretty.

x2
This will happen again this year unless Gauthier get's more toughness!
I wish him the best and hope he isn't gun shy because of it. Being aggressive and having a willingness to stand in front of the net is what was making him a very good player.
It isn't the sole responsibility of the Habs to rein in the Bruins. Now that the Bruins have won the Cup by using those tactics the rest of the league will be gunning for them.

This.
It's also the leagues responsibility to actually enforce rules. I like tough hockey, but what the B's do isn't tough, it's blatant disregard and disrespect for other players.
I don't mind getting 'humiliated' by the bruins if we win 4-1 everytime ... ?
Agreed, fighting is so overrated. Goons don't protect superstars anymore and toughness didn't protect Savard or Horton from being taken out. The Bruins didn't beat the Habs because they outmuscled them, they got lucky their goalie went into god mode and needed to go to OT 3 times including game 7 to beat them.
And Patches is Wolverine, gonna be a stud for a longtime.
What would that have proven? So your goon takes out Chara, then the next shift Thornton plows Gionta's head into the boards. Hooray.
I wouldn't have a goon. Like I just mentioned, what I expected was a bench clearing brawl. Show em that the TEAM isnt going to sit by and watch.
Has our sport really gotten so bad that you can't stand up for yourself for fear of the opponent targeting your best assets?
It's getting ridiculously out of hand. Back in the day, if something like this would've happened not one player on either team would've gone home without a scratch, but all of them (except the injured player) would go home to play another day.
Someone in MTL should have ****ed up Chara outside the Bell Centre. ****ing dirty piece of ****.
Not even. Somebody other than Gomez should've stuck up for Patches. Nobody did. I don't agree with bench clearing but I would've agreed with Moen or White taking even a 5-10 game suspension to just get off the bench skate up to Chara before he even sees the gloves are dropped sucker punch him, cheap shot him on the way down as well and just beat the living piss out of him. Maybe slew foot his ass and just kick his ass.
It would have been worth even 10 games. Then again though nothing would've brought Pacioretty back.
