I hope our team has the best offense in the NHL next season by some fluke of great chemistry, perfect health and steady prospect development Of course it all hinges on Cole, no pressure or anything...

If we could get Ryder for cheap I'd have taken him.

I heard his presser this aft where he tries to speak a little French. Reminded me of Gionta during the opener. hey they're from the USA. Still He probably speaks more than Beaulieu...Joke!

BTW 72 great Northern number. 72 Summit Series!

This speaking french thing is nice and all but they're really starting to push it. I'm all for immersing yourself in the culture and not just playing for the city but being part of it but it's almost as if they're forcing players to say stuff in french. The guy's primary goal is to play hockey. Let him concentrate on that instead of learning how to conjugate verbs.

The local Anglo's just take it all as comedy! Hmm what did they say again by 2015 over 50% of the Island of Montreal will not be Franco, almost there... patience!

Watch it pal, it's the French national holiday, the 14th of July, today And we all know where those political debates lead on this board... But just to make a small point, I think they meant that 50% of the Island will speak English by 2015, that would make a lot more sense than 50% of it being anglo.

You think that's bad? I have a stitched Gomez #91 jersey. I actually bought it in New York the summer he signed. I was a big fan of his. Key word: was.

Is it me or he seemed a lil bit stressed in his interview on RDS?

LOL, I won't mess with Bastille Day! We did our beers on July 1st & everyone was cordial, we can pay it back, We all have the same problem anyway, the Champlain Bridge is falling down.

They said over 50% non-Franco, not Anglo, that just means maybe a high percentage of other added up with Anglo. The Anglo's can't compete with Asia these days....

LOL on TSN, Cole says he took French in Junior College, but it's not quite up to par, but he'll take a little time to tweak it. a petit like he says.

Seems like Gorges was unwilling to give him #26

No wonder that guy has never been a captain in his entire career

Aw come on! Gorges is no Rook, he deserves his Number. Not everyone is like The MLB's John Kruk, who even as a vet notoriously gave away his number for a simple case of beer anytime someone came in.

# 94 - Yanic Perreault

That has to be some kind of a record.
It has to be!

As for Cole, I could care less what number he is wearning as long as he scores and provides more space for Plekanec and Cammalleri.

Awwwww I just saw the interview where he opened with (broken but appreciated) French. Great gesture. This guy knows what the media wants. I hope he knows what the fans want too (scoresheet numbers!)

It's really hard to speak in a language that you're not comfortable with to one person, let a lone a group of people and cameras. I know some French, but I rarely speak it to people I know, even if they know I suck at it.

Craig Button is an idiot. Did you see the lines he had ?

Said the right things. Good guy. <- Erik Cole.
