This is what I think we are lacking at the wings, top line potential or someone that you can say "top 6 for sure" kind of guy. IMO Kadri is going to be a top 6 player, with the potential to be a top line player (I still consider him a C propect FWIW).

Be pretty silly to move him for Turris IMO. Not saying Turris is bad, just sort of in the same situation right now.

Like others have said, would rather move him for a proven commodity.

And I don't agree that wing is not a needed position.. no winger right now aside from Kulemin and Kessel seem like 'long-term' solutions.

Kadri is as needed as a winger as he would be a center IMO. His value could really come into play this season and next year making someone else expendable.

Absolutely no reason for this trade to go down.

Nasty is staying in town.

Well I would say it is pretty obvious what is going on here.

Kadri + Grabowski for Turris + 1st and 2nd rounder next year
Komisarek + Phoenix 2nd rounder for a 1st rounder from Islanders in 2013
Armstrong to Pitts for a first + ? in 2014

Caps space cleared up some first rounders in place now

Offer sheet Stamkos losing TMLs 4 first rounders
Move Connolly to 2nd line centre
Flip Turris(now that Stamkos is secured) to ? for 2015 first rounder and ?

I really do not know why none of you guys can't see this - it is so transparent.

I would not make this move, but Turris is a good player.

The issue in Phoenix is that their style of play does not match Turris in the least. They have no ability to carry the puck into the offensive zone and have no creativity outside of Turris.

He is wasting away out there and can't get on the ice as their coach is known to not trust young players and wants him to play a far more defensive game.

He has the same issues Kadri has. He's small and relatively weak. But he has the same strengths - can create, carries the puck well, has good vision.

I think Kadri has been handled better and I enjoy watching him play. So I'd keep him.

If that is what happens then then I am hearing from my sourcesthose pesky voices in my head

Toronto will then go to plan B - Keep Turris a 2nd line centre, keep the picks and cap space and make a move on Parise next year when he is UFA.

A straight up might make some sense. Kadri is currently projecting more as an offensive winger with an edge with the possibility of being a center as he matures while Turris is currently projecting more as a two way center. If Burke wants to add more of a sure thing down the middle, I might see the temptation to consider this deal.

Interesting.

French is saying this is close but this is the first I've heard of a trade involving Turris and Kadri and whether this statement is accurate, I'm not sure?

Quote:
Just heard one off the grapevine that there are rumblings of a trade between Phoenix and Toronto that would involve Kyle Turris for Nazem Kadri. Brian Burke wants to add another talented young center to his depth chart and one with the pedigree of still being considered a top-prospect while Kadri he feels will not be a center down the road and more likely will slot on the wing which is not an organizational need.
Maybe it's just a rumour but if you look at our prospect pool, Colbourne stands out as our #1 Center, then it drops to Sam Carrick and assuming that Kadri is going to be a winger, it does leave us with very few Centers coming up in the system and Sondre Olden is at least a few years away.

If Burke was interested in getting Turris, and this deal were to happen, why would it go down AFTER he picked up Connolly and Lombardi? If we failed to sign a no. 1 C, this trade would've made more sense. Right now, Kadri is slated to come in as a winger and that's that. We're getting trolled hard by HockeyBuzz.

Have any rumors of trades actually happened? It seems like all the deals Burke makes fly under the radar......I call B.S

Okay so we trade Kadri who is now our best wing prospect for a very skilled center prospect. Now what happens to our "top-end" wing depth now?

Then there are the people who discuss this like Burke would consider it for a second and promote more of these threads.

Oh, the people that read it are infinitely dumber. In fact, that Eklund clown is a friggin genius. He has built a pretty valuable site out of nothing...literally nothing. His fellow "bloggers" now understand the key to getting hits is including the Leafs in their rumours.

that would be a horrible trade.

Turris should be worth about as much as Filatov was.

if Kadri completely bombs this upcoming season, then MAYBE his value drops down to the older and softer Turris' level.

Just hockeybuzz trolling as usual IMO, Burke keeps his moves on the DL, the rumors are basically never true.

Another trade Kadri thread.

And for a guy(Turris) that has been a bust thus far since being drafted, when Kadri shows he is a NHL'er let's revisit all these threads.
