He has to get in the line up first for that to happen. Opening night with everyone healthy on a good team is not always easy for super heavies that do not play a regular shift to be in the line up. They already will likely have Deryk Engelland, Asham etc... taking up spots on that night. Even Smack admitted there is a good chance he will not be playing that night (or potentially even on the big club).
If he is I am not sure Hordichuk is dumb enough to really square off and trade them full blast with a guy that not only has that kind of punching power but also is 4 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier.

You are right it wasn't a direct quote regarding eager and hordichuk. He said early in the interview that he could see the writing was on the wall when the Oilers signed hordichuk and eager... then later he said he asked (penguins) if he could be a part of that opening game (mentioned he had it circled)... then he said "there was a couple of people who took my job and I don't really take to kindly to that" then he laughs
kind of lighthearted, nothing mean in the tone of the interview.
