I'd love Clutterbuck but I'm sure it would be vast overpayment to get him.

Probably more like a 1st and Etem or Holland. That's what I'd guess their asking price would be.

I would too, except that I already gave it up so Selanne would resign for the 09-10 season. I'm running out of balls here people.

how has Beauchemin been playing ever since he's been trade back to the ducks?

i need another top 4 spot on my team for my fantasy draft and i was wondering if he would be a good option...
im looking for a top-4 experienced dman ..... and Beauch is the first guy who came to mind (Gill is also available, not sure who is better)

my top 4 is currently:
Weber-Whitney
XXXXX-Hamonic

if someone can answer me soon it will be greatly appreciated..... it's my turn to pick in the fantasy draft now

btw the pool doesnt go by points.... it gets judged by the ability to win the cup next season

I thought Beauchemin was solid, he formed great chemistry with Luca Sbisa so we know that is one pairing that could definitely work. I think it's very likely that we see him paired with Fowler this year, and they'll log some good minutes together. I'm a homer, sure, but I'd definitely take him to round out your top four. I think he might have a solid year playing beside Fowler (whose play is very similar to Niedermayer's).

When was the last time you saw a third liner traded for a first and a top prospect? Not that the Wild are moving Clutterbuck but if they were they would struggle to get a 1st, let alone a top prospect thrown in.

Well... that's the point. The Wild would ask for something stupid. He's a fan favorite there, and a premier third liner in the game. He won't be moved, period.

That's how I feel about it. The reason you don't see moves like that for that kind of player is because the other team won't give that up.

Also it would be nice to not have to play against him 4 times a season.

Exactly. He's just more valuable to the Wild, and its fanbase, than he is to other teams.

Still would love to have him.

i think that in the next few years we may see some of this years draft prospects tried out in a role like cluttbuck as bottom 6 checkers/good Power Froward type players. i can both Max Friberg as well as Joseph Cramarossa starting there

If Cramarossa lives up to his potential, that'll be great for us. Not to mention his mutton chops would do wonders for team chemistry... in my mind.

I've been thinking of some kind of blockbusters but was too afraid to post any in the trade forum.

I came up with these two:

Ryan, Palmieri, Holland, Beauchemin, 1st

for

Schenn, Couturier, Hartnell, Nodl, Carle

and

Ryan, Palmieri, Sbisa, 3rd

Oshie, McDonald, Pietrangelo

Those are some damn big trades. Tough to get one's head wrapped around, really. (Maybe that's just me at 4 p.m., though. ) I would break the Flyers deal down to Beauchemin ~= Carle, Ryan >= Hartnell + Couturier, leaving Palmieri + Holland + 1st for Schenn + Nodl (all value wise). The last part is obviously not so favourable, so ultimately, I would not do that one.

The Blue one I would have as Ryan >~ Pietrangelo, Oshie >~ Sbisa, and Palmieri + 3rd >~ McDonald. I think that's a little closer value wise, but I'm still hesitant. If a deal was made, I would guess it would benefit us more if we left other bigger assets from our side out of the equasion. It would require a mentionable overpayment anyway to get Ryan.

Both those deals would be hard to swallow if any of them went down. Ryan is already a legit 30 goal scorer and not even in his prime.

Already would hate watching him on another team at this point
