Don't kid yourself, it was all about the money. Toronto simply offered a price that Montreal wasn't ready to offer.
The benefits you get on the Island counter the extra Million, he couldn't handle the pressure of being a Captain!

Whenever he was on the ice, I was "happy". Now, whenever he's on the ice, I'm still happy..

TL;DR : No.
What a beauty of a pass to Cammy, maybe we should bring him back after all

Nah don't want the sloppy 2nds.....

Nope. Don't want, at all.

He is exactly the type of defensemen Montreal should be avoiding.

Well, last season Komisarek was -8 and Spacek +9. So I don't see why we should bring Komi and his contract here to replace Spacek.

Every defenseman plays well with Markov not just Komi. So bringing a traitor back and place him with our best defenseman? Hell no.

I think the OP NY was looking for a broader perspective. Montreal has spoken... One
Word.

Traitor!

I loved him as a hab. I think we miss a player like him. Not the player he has become, though. Pass.

Komi 2 more years @ $4.5 mil

Spacek at $3.8 for 1 years

Komi --- Markov
Georges---Subban
Weber---Gill
Yemelin

I think that D is stronger and has some size.
Selanne and Kariya were great together in Anaheim, but they were crap together in Colorado. Their careers looked over, but after going to other teams they got back on track.

I think Kommy needs a change from Toronto, but not in Montreal.

Komisarek has a coach well suited for him: both guys have around a 100 IQ score... combined!

Let Komi be truculent somewhere else...

Exactly. I'd take him back too. And about the argument that any D-man plays better with Markov, well any hockey player plays worse on that awful Toronto team. Also, how can we know for sure that Komisarek and Markov don't have great chemistry ? The last time Markov played a full season was when Komisarek was his partner.

Exactly what would he have done to keep Markov healthy?

What I meant is that he hasn't played a significant period of time with any other player than Komisarek to prove that he makes any player better. Maybe Komisarek feeds from Markov's strenght more than most D-man would.

No. We have to re-up Gorges and, next year, Price and Subban will be our expensive stars in the making.
