CapGeek is reporting that Ben Maxwell has signed a 1 year two-way deal with the Jets.

His cap hit appears to have gone down by $135k.

Good price for a depth player. Not bad!

Happy he's resigned, he seems like a good personality and someone that could contribute at some level.

I always liked him while he played in Hamilton and I hope he gets another good shot at cracking the Jets lineup.

I think Maxwell and Machacek will have big years as rooks.

Maxwell did well at the end of last year cycling the puck and causing some havoc. Pretty tough too. Machacek was a bust in his call up, and didn't seem to want to touch the puck at all for more than a millisecond.

I'm kind of unsure about Maxwell myself but Machacek is my own dark horse pick to have a good year if he makes it. The guy has great hands, can snipe; he just needs to put it all together at the top level now, though perhaps he won't.

Good to hear Maxwell signed though. He is a depth guy at worst, a good plugger.
