Not sure why people like Stajcer. He was injured and barely played this year. And in the games that he played, he didn't put up great stats at all. What am I missing with him?

He was drafted the same round as Noreau, and I don't think his stock went up in the last two years. I doubt we could trade him for a 5th rounder right now or even for a 7th rounder.

That's all fine and dandy, but guys with chances at being impact players will and should always rank higher than potential fourth-liners.

It's not like someone who's 25, who has already reached his prime, scoring 30 goals.
You have to look at more than the numbers. He showed absolutely nothing in his call up to indicate that he has real offensive upside. Scoring in the AHL is not the same as scoring in the NHL. You keep talking about his 30 goal pace in the AHL, but how did he score his goals? Was he doing it with skill or was he banging in a bunch of garbage goals? We have plenty of guys who can do the latter better than he can.

I think he was just timid in the NHL because he was scared on his first tour of NHL duty. His goals were a combination of skill and garbage goals in the AHL. While it may be hype, Gordie Clark repeatedly said that Weise has real skill and an ability to score. I don't think we should hold his bring timid on his first run in the NHL as proof he can't play. He will be more relaxed next time around.

Out of all 6 players, the player the with the best shot of making the NHL (with the Rangers) is Jason Wilson. He is my pick.

Add that other short kid with the long name that we signed recently.

There's certainly an adjustment to be made going from the AHL to the NHL and it's not like he was getting tons of ice time. He was a 4th line fill in. As for being timid he was involved in 3 fights in 9 games--with limited ice time. The timid argument for me works a lot better with the recently departed Grachev--and speaking of Grachev--if he were still in the Rangers organization he'd probably be once again in our top 10 in this poll despite the fact that Weise outperformed him the last two seasons in the AHL. Weise may only ever amount to a 4th liner if he gets to the NHL but a player from the Rangers past that Grachev most resembles at this point in time is Pavel Brendl.

We really need to switch St. Croix and McColgan since St. Croix was taken ahead of McColgan...

Why? McClogan has a higher upside than St. Croix and more people feel that he will reach that potential. Both players have great upside and potential, but I think after this up coming season we will find out who belongs in front of who.

Looks like a tie. Unless there is a swing for either guy, I will call a tie breaker round when I get access to my computer (on a cell now).

After more than 27 hours, it's still 26-26 and we haven't had a vote in hours. Clearly we need a tie-breaker round. Hopefully those 7 people who voted for neither Pashnin nor Weise will break the tie.

Please go to the Tie-Breaker Poll.
