yeah thats exactly what i said a few pages ago, but the thing is some team thats not up against the cap limit might be willing to take a chance on him if there goalies fail to meet expectations this season. I really couldn't see many scenarios where he could command that much (maybe a late pick or prospect) but at almost 6mil for only 3 more years i could see a few teams on the edge of the playoffs taking a chance.
I don't think it will happen, There is a reason team not up against the cap are not up against the cap. They cant afford to spoil their money on a bad goalie contract.
And Team near the cap will have an hard time finding the cap space if they ever need a Kiprusoff.
I just think there will always be better option out there.
All this says, i think Kiprusoff will have positive value (if he still play well) in summer 2013. Most of his bad contract will be expired and he will have only 1 years with a caps hits of 5 800 000 but with an actual 1 000 000$
Poor teams needing to reach the cap floor could have an interest at this point.
