Well I was expecting 25-30pts but now that he'll be back at the start of the year I'm expecting at least 100pts.

If he doesn't break 90 trade him for Malone

Good read. I don't expect that much from Eller next year. 30-35pts would be right. I got higher expectations on David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty

Anything less than 40 points is a disappointment.

Eller and Kostitsyn should be a fantastic 3rd line duo. That's the kind of 3rd line that will win us games even when our top 6 guys aren't doing ****. I can't wait for the day he'll be ready for 2nd line duties. It's an almost impossible task to simply imagine a 6'2 200+ pound center with great offensive skills, excellent skater and work ethic....

To put on 5 pounds while also recovering from shoulder surgery is great!

I still think Eller can turn into a shutdown center man who can in his prime put up 45-55 points a year
For once I'm the one who thinks you guys are underestimating a player. To me he has the size, skill, skating ability and poise with the puck at his early age to become a regular contributor on the top 6 in the NHL. He excels at using his frame to protect the puck. Reminds me of a young Sundin but not quite the same offensive skills though. But for this year yeah anything north of 45 points would be quite the surprise. People tend to forget players take a really long time to develop.

I like that he's not afraid to get in front of the goalie, get in those 'danger' zones and hope for the puck. He made some real slick moves at the end of last year with AK.

I wouldn't be surprised if he develops into a top 6 two-way center. For some reason, I think he'll play a Jordan Staal type of a role in Montreal, which influenced my projection for him in his future development.

I think he can be a top 6 center, but I feel like he'll be used for more of a shutdown role. For some reason, Eller reminds me of a more offensive Bonk(obviously different players, but size wise and role wise, that's who he reminds me of). Eller plays quite the puck possession game and is quite good at it despite being under 200 pounds.

Like you said, people forget that it takes more than one year to develop. I expect Eller to keep learning, he's still has a ways to go, but I like where he currently is.

Great news. I really liked his progression last year and impressed me a lot in the playoffs, even playing injured, that showed heart and guts. I don't know what kind of season he'll have, but i'm sure he'll play with confidence. He's got the talent and size and has shown flashes of brilliance. He's definitely got the offensive upside to be top 6. You guys really think he'll be a shutdown type guy, a la Jordan Staal? Or could he develop to be, in a few years time, a capable 60-70 pt guy? If he can and does, I would see Pleks being more of the shutdown C, but that's just my opinion.

Awesome news! Hope he plays with AK for the better part of the season if not the entire season. Those two were great together!

Eller, Subban, Gomez, Pacioretty...

Is it normal to have so many players reported to train themselves extensively during the summer?

If it's not, I am happy to see that kind of culture and mentality emerging and taking shape in our locker room.

We seem to have a room that likes to train hard summertime, I think the ECF lit a spark under a few players two years ago and it carried over.. Younger guys probably tend to work out more than the veterans anyway trying to fill into their frame

I expect him to be something like 205 pounds by the start of the season. Guy will be a machine.

Boy you crazy! Gauthier has no vision, he probably doesn't even know who Eller is and just accepted the first offer out of any team for Halak.

As for Eller, good news. This kid is simply too good not to become a key player. I don't understand how McGuire thinks he's a marginal player.

You know, nor do I understand that statement
I hope for you, and Denmark, that McGuire is wrong

Well considering he won't be getting any PP time behind Plekanec, Cammalleri, Gomez, Gionta, Cole, Kostitsyn, Pacioretty prepare to be disappointed because no way Eller gets close the 40 even strength points in a season this soon. If he does manage to do it on the 3rd line, we'll have one of the best teams in the NHL.

Everytime he covers a habs game Mcguire feels the need to bash the halak trade as well as Eller.
