Bobrovsky to Tampa

Thoughts? What would TB be willing to give up for him (or what would be fair return value)? Would they rather go out and try a pricey FA signing in a veteran like Vokoun or maybe take a chance on a young guy like Varlamov?

This. I would rather not give up anything and stick with Roli for now.

Bobrovsky has a bright future, but we need to be more concerned about working on our D then picking up another goalie right now. As long as we get Roli back and Tokarski keeps developing, I don't see a problem.

I expect Roli to be back regardless....and for a fairly cheap price.....but he doesnt have much time left. TB needs to find someone else. Preferably one with a lot of upside and (in this case) a reasonable cap hit. Having Roli there to mentor someone like that would be a great scenario to have I would think.

Just need someone to bridge the gap. If tokarski develops this season he should be on the main club next year.

Then why let a cheap (and from what I've seen talented) player like Desjardins hit FA? He would have been a suitable bridge, no?

They could still sign him.

I just don't like Bobrovsky and think he's super overrated, that's just my opinion.

He had surgery and won't be able to skate until either right before camp or shortly after.

Ideally, I'd want the Bolts to sign healthy Varlamov. Last I heard, he's not going to re-sign with the Caps and I think they can trade him for cheap since he may be heading to the KHL. Although he would require quite a lot of money to stay in North America, so it's probably not a feasible option.

Bobrovsky? Big meltdown in the playoffs - rather have Varlamov.

To be fair the whole Flyers team had a huge meltdown in the playoffs. They were a different team without Pronger (and Carter). Bob played solid in the regular season but was thrown into cold water in the playoffs. He defenitely showed nerves - not surprising tho, the kid's 22 and it's his first playoffs on a team with huge expectations.

Varlamov tends to show nerves too. But he's the way more talented player of the two. I'd love to have him on the team but he doesn't seem compatible right now as he probably has different salary and playing time expectations.

He barely played in the play offs. He let in one goal in his first game. Then he got pulled in his second game when Buffalo scored on a 3 on 1. He was fine in relief of Boosh and in his last game against Boston too. Brian Boucher was the **** show.

I like bobrovsky I think we could get him at the end of the season when rolli retires and I don't think tokarski will be a franchise goalie like bobrovsky or there is tukka rask for tokarski?

When Tic is on his A-game he is nearly unbeatable. If he can show he's a number one in the AHL this season then we roll with him and Garon the following season. If he plays like a 1A/B goalie in the AHL then I would be open to looking for a replacement.
