Flyers on the water.

No one fell into the water. No one accidentally put his foot through a hull. And no one got clunked on the head with an oar. Still, there were some mishaps of sorts.

"My rear-end hurts, my back fell out and I got blisters," offered defenseman Chris Therien. "When you were moving, it was fine. But when you weren't, it hurts."

Sim looked at Therien - nicknamed "Bundy" (that's Al, not Ted) - incredulously.

"Bundy was a mishap," Sim insisted.

How so?

"Wherever he goes, whatever he does, laughter follows," Sim said.

What did he do in the boat that was so funny?

"What did he do?" Sim replied. "That's just it. He did nothing!"
I figured it out. Chris Therien is a good locker room presence because he is the joke.

Stop it with the Therien Bashing. Its silly and pointless right now. If and when he stinks up the ice, THEN by all means have at him. Right now the season hasnt even started and people are already dragging out the old cliche's; as if yesterdays jokes have gotten any funnier.

When Jon Sim, a part-time fourth liner, mocks Therien it's hard not to laugh.

Therien's great in the locker room...this is just another example of his personality. You could call him a lot of things but never a locker room cancer.

Agree 100%. I'd rather have Therien as a teammate over a jackass like Bill Guerin, for example.

Personally, I think they are laughing at the color of Forsberg's shirt.

Forsberg's head looks about four sizes too large in that pic.

He's clearly been using Mr. Burns' tonic. Someone should notify the league immediately, or just wait until the gigantism sets in completely.

I dont get the Therrien Bashing either, he's back again with a fresh start and he's one of our players, wouldn't it be more wise and helpful for him for the fans to get behind him.

That was the best Simpson's ever! I just hope he doesn't go falling into that endless hole that Ozzie Smith fell in, but with his luck, it just might happen.
