But if I tell some Blackhawks exec that I have to have his name, he's not going to understand because every other outlet in town lets him be anonymous.
Unfortunately, in todays times people could get fired for going on record. That's why all you ever see is "a source familiar with the situation." On the other hand though, if someone trusts the person they are giving the info to, they will be more likely to open up about things they would have normally kept to themselves.

Sounds like a bunch of garbage to me...everyone always says that pisani doesnt say a word...How come we have never heard of pisani and kane going out on the town before? He stopped dressing because he played terrible hockey.

That is why he didn't play for that stretch

"In todays times"

More like always. Definitely through Dollar Bill, and I think even back into the Arthur Wirtz days the Hawks were an organization that had the media by the balls. I've personally never heard anything suggesting that this has changed under Rocky/McD.

Report something they don't like and they'll cut you off.

so - to recap

Skille seems to be a given

Dowell looks like he fits to bill

remember when he was benched and there was rumbling that he was complaining about people in practice or he was effing off or something

anyone remember that during the season when he got bench for a week straight or so?

I can just about guarantee you it wasn't Dowell. He's a good guy, good character (I know people are tiring of that word but it's true)was well-liked in the dressing room and his work ethic and attitude have never been in question, and without being a name dropper let's just say I'm speaking from a somewhat personal standpoint. Fairly certain he was not a troublemaker in any way in that dressing room, especially given his role on the team. He answered the bell a number of times for teammates and was well-liked.

I have pretty good first-hand knowledge that it was at least partly Turco.

I'm thinking about not posting on hfboards anymore. This whole thread is horrible. One columnist has a rumor and now everyone has to find the troublemaker. Everyone is calling guys characters out, with no solid proof.
This reminds me of high school.
So what if they had locker room tension. A) they were losing and B) it's supposedly fixed.

I liked it here, but this thread just SUCKS!

Jack-hole's rumors are just about as bad as Eklund's rumors.

Take it as you will, but my feelings are that he is refering to Kane based on this small fact. Just an observation and my opinion. He won't mention him in the bad stuff (obviously) so I feel there's no way he'd mention his name in the good stuff either.

Am I reading too much into this?????

No, you're not reading too much into it. That's exactly what the author meant to do. Anyone who doesn't think the author is talking bout Kane is either ignorant or just living in homer denial. I knew as soon as I read the article that most of the posts here would be authored by homers who would put the blame conveniently on players no longer on the team. Easy cop out for the homer patrol.

The fact that the author lists all the key players on the team who are hard workers and the ONLY player left out is Kane is a big clue from the author as to who he is talking about.

LOL at the notion that a bit player like Skille or Pasani or Dowel could divide a lockerroom.

Seriously, you have got to be joking to even suggest that.

On a lighter note, watched opening ceremony from the convention on DVR. Toews said he thought he'd be booed for not bringing the Cup. I love the his outlook, anything less than perfection is a bad year. The guy is a psychopath when it comes to winning, reminds me of Messier.

toews seems like a real killjoy. Probably wouldn't hurt morale if he occasionally channeled the toews who did beer bongs at UND

I never thought about compare Toews to Messier. I thought the best comparision is Yzerman, but Messier is good too
