Carey Price in Exhibition Rodeo's

What are your thoughts on the franchise's biggest key to the future is competing in exhibition rodeo as a team roper during the offseason?

My family watched him and coming from a cowboy family they said he is a natural. His moms family is really into rodeo and Carey takes good interest in it. My worry is that he gets his fingers caught in the dally and get ripped off. Some ropers it has actually happened to.

thoughts? (dont want to make you worry, just want to know how you feel)

Yea I heard about it ages ago. It is certainly dangerous. I worry more about his back/hip, but hey, anything to take his mind off 70-game seasons.

If last season is any indication, the bull riding gives him special powers

As long as he's not attempting to play dangerous roller hockey.

This. He has the toughest position in hockey, getting away from hockey to do another thing he loves is fine. Just got to hope that he doesn't hurt himself that way

Hockey players are going to do things that can cause bodily injury to them, they just have to be more careful. They know whats on the line.

Can't be as bad as Kovalev piloting his own planes to games.. IMO. Probably more injury risk but still.

Price says he practices roping before games, probably relaxes his mind, if that is the case, it is likely a good thing.

I doubt he's stupid enough to do an event that's truly dangerous. In any activity there is inherent danger, he could easily slip a disk just playing golf. My understanding is that he does roping of some sort and if that's the case then it probably help his hand/eye and reflexes.

If Price gets injured because of the rodeo, I will personally go and slaughter every animal in British Columbia.

Meh, when you think about it, evey players get into cars every day. That's probably more dangerous than doing one or two rodeo per summer...

Don't forget the amount of plane rides they take during the season.

Does it get his mind off hockey during the off-season? Yes
Does he enjoy it? Yes
Does he have to remain fit to take part? Yes

Go ahead.

As long as he isn't scaling skyscrapers fighting crime I think he should do whatever he like in his offseason

After last season it wouldn't surprise me to find out he's a crimefighting super hero, when he isn't single handedly winning us hockey games.
