Kovalchuk will play defense and will be fine. He's a smart guy, and he actually wants to win. He knows that he needed to change his style. It's not that necessary, it's just the fact that when he wasn't producing in a game style that doesn't let any players produce, he just looked bad. Under a normal coach he just looks like he plays the Ovechkin style and it didn't matter. Then, when he played defense on a great style he looked like one of the best players in the league.
The failure of Maclean really unlocked something with Kovalchuk and somehow got us Larsson too. If our best player continues what I know he'll do, Parise and Zajac keep doing what they do, and the defense just plays good D like they usually do, I hope the Atlantic Division title isn't the only thing were expecting.
