I wonder how many more people started following the NHL playoffs because of the NFL lockout.

As a hockey fan, I'd like to think it was a significant number, and since they saw the Bruins win the Cup, they'll start following the sport on a consistent basis.

Don't get on me about the GMen, I'm very quick to remind people about a certain game a few years ago that make this years Bruins win look miniscule.
Oh so you admit to not really caring about football, and don't follow your team year round, but still have something to say about that game?

YEAHHHHHH, maybe they wont choke at home in the playoffs this season. The defense was the youngest in the league, should be better/if they get a pass rusher in FA.

Yeah, I know. I love sports but if I had to choose between watching baseball, hockey or football I would have to say without a shadow of a doubt that football would be a distant 3rd. With baseball coming out on top ONLY if it was the Sox in the playoffs and at that I would be switching to keep up with the B's. The thing about the brutality is true, when I was in high school in the late 70's a big kid weighed about 210-220 lbs. Todays high school kids are 260 and above and they are getting injuries that are going to haunt them later in life. A high school player that blows out his knee/s multiple times is staring at knee replacement by the time he's in his late 40's.
The body wasn't designed to take the kind of abuse that occurs in football, hockey and other contact sports. We all think that we are bulletproof when we're 17 years old, you find out later that's not true. I'm not one of those people that wants to get rid of football or boxing I believe everyone has the right to decide what they want to do. I'm just expressing my honest opinion about how I feel. I still do want the Giants to beat the Pats.

Awesome, I was gonna be really bummed if it continued through the season. Can't say I care as much about basketball, but I love football.

I HATE the Patriots. Bills season ticket holder here. (yeah, yeah, it sucks I know)

BUT, Isn't this a Bruins message board? NOT a Boston Patriots board.

Anyway, RIP to Mrs. Kraft.

Out of the two, Mankins is the guy who NEEDS to be resigned. He only played something like 8 games in the regular season and he still made the Pro Bowl. That says a lot about the guy's talent.

And to all of the NFL Network analysts saying that the Pats need a 'stud' RB, I think we got along just fine with the Law Firm and Woodhead last year.

Mankins should run from Boston. Especially after the way they treated him. He'll get bank somewhere. We've got the Money in Buffalo for him. But I doubt that cheapskate Wilson would doll out the cash for a player like that

Not bad. Most painful one for sure. But backing up a year or two, the Ronnie Harmon drop in the end zone against Cleveland was also pretty bad. I at least have grown used to that kind of stuff from them.

Looking forward to seeing Warren and Bodden back this season. Not sure I want Mankins back. The whole lockout stuff that just came out really isn't sitting well with me.

I don't get why people think ragging on the Patriots gets Pat's fans mad. So, is calling them the "Cheatriots" going to take away from the fact that they're one of the best dynasties in the history of the game? Nope. It isn't going to take away the records or the Super Bowls. Nothing.

I couldn't care less. It's almost like trying to discredit the Bruins cup by saying they "gooned" their way to the cup. Please! Don't make me laugh!

I'm not saying that the haters are right, but I think if someone's gonna rag on the Patriots, why not jab back?

Ragging on a Bills fan is like kicking dirt in the face of a retarded kid who fell down and broke his leg at the special olympics

Oh, for sure. It's just that the people trying to insult the Pats and their fans have no legs to stand on. How do you insult the best? It's like trying to insult the Lakers, Yankees or Celtics. It's hard to make those fans feel bad.

I know it's hilarious from a Bills fan, but it's just a bit of banter I suppose. It's not like I wrote a page-long diatribe in response.
