More power to him if he does. He can waste one of the Wings 50 contracts. At this point I don't see him having a future as a player.

So, he was a 21st overall pick, and at 21 yrs old he already has no future as a player? Ok!

Usually 20 or 21 year old 1st rounders can crack an Ahl lineup. He threw his back out skating. He can't stay healthy. He has no future in the NHL. Don't care too much about his future in euro leagues.

Not ones who failed to crack and AHL line-up twice. Even in Europe he's in second tier leagues (NLA, HockeyAllsvenskan). And he hasn't played a full professional season yet.

I'll be waiting.

By the way I rarely speak in absolutes. I feel that strongly about this.

He would be playing in the AHL probably for a bit. Engqvist is ahead of him to play for the big club. He does have size, but according to some he is pretty soft and enjoys he Euro non contact kind of hockey.

I think its possible him and Engqvist could become buddies and help him fit in, in the organization as they are both Swede's.

He is still young he could be good to have for depth and hopefully he starts to shine. Seems like a scenario of Fabian Brunnstrom and suppose to be really good and he is not playing the AHL.

Get him to any team that can coddle him and have a bit more patience with him and his development and who knows.....let him play and adjust to the AHL for another year or two and then see if he can crack the NHL

I remember the Oilers traded up thinking the caps would take Eberle and then the Caps traded up thinking the Oilers were taking Gustaffsson. Interesting how thats working out right now.

Can't see many teams giving him much thought. You quit on your team and ask to be placed in Europe, that's about all she wrote. No one is going to use a contract spot to let some kid be emo in Switzerland. He's done.

What a waste of a pick by the caps. could have drafted Eberle, Tedenby, or Tyler Ennis.

Not all. Tinordi would have been worthwhile and a legacy pick.

The Oilers never traded up, but the Caps traded up ahead of the Oilers, where at this point I was ******** myself because I thought they were going to pick Eberle.

I can't believe somebody with talent so close to a professionnal sport can piss and **** on his own chances. Something is definitely going wrong in this kid's head.

If he's willing to play AHL I could see Ottaea looking at him to replace Daugavins, assuming he actually up anf leaves. Sorry about bad spelling/typing... On my phone and I can only see the first 4 words of what I type.
