What pairing would you build a team around if you had to win as many Stanley Cups as possible over the next 20 years?

Crosby, Ovechkin (i'm not taking current abilities/development into account)

Imagine some of these combos though.

While I'm enticed by the amazing potential of Crosby/Ovechkin and by the sheer goal scoring ability of Kovalchuk/Nash I'll take the one pairing that has already proven that they have what it takes to win in the NHL.

Thornton and Lecavalier have proven to be great NHLers, so I'd say them.

crosby and ovechkin ... but if joe and vinnie were just a few years younger i'd take them (a couple of years makes a difference when you're talking about a 20 year stretch)

I have to go with Thorton and Lecavalier, because we know what they can do in the NHL

Crosby-Ovechkin is veeeeeeery close.
