Voting Beach. Not sure he reaches his potential, but you can say that of everyone left. His upside certainly is the highest.

Beach has the highest upside but I think Krüger will reach his potential and become a 2nd Line Center in the NHL

I think that just shows how little difference there is between all our prospects.

But this particular poll was spolied the minute Smith got voted in the top 5.

Yup, and that other list is spoiled because he isn't in the top 10.

Beach because of his upside...slowly developing but would not consider him a bust this year or next year because of his age.

Kruger as 2nd line center in the NHL...a good possibility, but I'm not sure Hawks fans would want that on this team.

He would have to pass Bolland on the depth chart and Krugers offensive game is probably 2 years away from being just even average.

A second line center maybe --that is a long ways away 5 years.

I disagree. He showed flashes with the puck around the net in a few games. He just played so damn conservative with the Hawks (and I don't blame him given the circumstances) that he couldn't really show off his talents. I don't see any reason why he couldn't be a No. 2 C in 2012-13 unless he doesn't progress at all.

Beach for me. Kruger follows who is then followed by either Kayes, Saad or Holl/Clendening

I'm curious why anyone has Kevin Hayes above Jimmy Hayes? Jimmy was more productive as a freshmen. Jimmy helped BC win the NCAA title as a sophomore. And Jimmy put very nice numbers as a junior.

What exactly has Kevin done or shown to be above Jimmy? I'm not arguing...I'm confused and looking for answers. I'm hoping the answer is more than their draft positions.

Jimmy has been and is also much bigger than Kevin. Pretty easy to walk into NCAA hockey with the tools Jayes has and do well when you're 6'5.

Kevin is more talented... not sure what else there is to say about the matter. Both will be good players IMO down the road, but Kevin's got the higher ceiling.

Smith has played 1 more game than Kruger, who is ranked #1. (1 less regular season game)

Smith > Kruger

It's a stupid ranking.

Kevin didn't get near the ice time that J Hayes had, and I believe Jimmy was playing with Kreider. Not only that in Jimmys 1st season, he had 13pts in 36Gp, Kevin had 14pts in 31GP. Really not that much of a difference.

The line was Kreider-Kayes-Jayes while Kayes was healthy. From what I've seen at BC and prospects camp, Jayes is more of a big bodied grinder and mucker while Kayes is more of a puck possession playmaker. Think a poor, poor mans Getzlaf.

Either way, he didn't get near as much ice time as Jimmy, and it was his freshman year. He did just as well as Jimmy did in his freshman year!

And Kevin being a playmaker/possession type player means he is valued more than a grinder like Jimmy which explains why people rate him higher!
