What a bunch of bunk. Mark Twain is right yet again: there's lies, damned lies and then there's statistics.

How can you compare a player who plays over 73,000 minutes to one that plays less than 7,200 minutes?

I think I would just die of laughter if they bought him out again.

That's gotta be an NHL first, no? One club paying a player two salaries. LMAO. Garth Snow, you made my day.

Ottawa is actually paying Alfredsson buyout money plus his contract money. There was apparently some weird thing where they bought out some option years in his old contract that was signed before the new CBA went into effect

Confirmation from the Islanders that they are interested:

#Isles-Yashin reunion? Both Snow and Yashin's agent Mark Gandler confirm to Newsday they have discussed possibility *******.com/4xc2jrp

Yashin?

Really?

Well, the Islanders are already paying him $2m+ for the next four years NOT to play hockey for them, so maybe he will give them a discount on the additional money required for him to actually play!

What a freaking circus.

They're the Islanders. It's a **** show.

And then when they have a ridiculous top 6 we'll remember being a travesty of an organization leads to nothing but success later on unless you're the Panthers.

Bobby Holik would probably be a better comparison than Redden.

Why would the Islanders do that to their fanbase? Pretty much just pisses all the diehards off...

Especially when you consider that they're begging the taxpayers for a handout to build a new arena in less than two weeks.

Absolute circus over there.

Besides being funny (well, hilarious), I'd love to see Yashin poison all the great talent they have in that organization.

Jets officially unveiled their new logo(s):

Not really a fan of them. I like the one on the top right corner.

Text one looks really amateurish. Other two are not terrible, but nothing special either.

They really love maple leafs in their logos up north of the border, eh?

I think they look kind of cool... the best one is the one in the upper right-hand corner.

I have been slowly gaining respect for the Isles organization since the lockout.

All that respect will be wiped away if they sign Yashin. What a turd that dude is.
