SEC record was 11 held by Auburn (2010), Georgia (2009) and Ole Miss (2009). The NCAA record is 14 BTW. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20...-SEC-benchmark

Understand thought the MLB draft is American and Canadians only and there is 50 rounds plus compensatory rounds 1500+ players get drafted from High schools and College Jr's and Sr's. Vandy had 14 eligible player for the draft. Still a talented team and several signee's were drafted also.

Sweet. I've got a new ticket source and I've only been to one NFL game in the past few years. I'm looking forward to it regardless of the suckery.

That's definitely a good thing...

But I'm not sure it's going to be a pretty sight next season.

it will be accepted, the players just have to puff out their chest one more time while the ball is in their court.

Quite a few Braves and Reds fans are around. Yanks too.

Personally I can't stand the game but I know there are plenty of fans around.

Not a pro team. We've got a minor league team. The Sounds. I've been to a few of those games. Like I said, I'm not a huge fan of baseball as a whole but it can be a fun experience just to go see a game and do the whole beer and a hotdog thing.

Minor league is professional. I wonder how often people fail to make that distinction, and if that alters their perception of the minors.

Personally, I never developed much of an attachment to the Sounds, and never really went to a lot of games. I do love baseball, though, it's a great sport (although I don't really think there's such a thing as a "bad" sport). We've got a rookie league team here in Johnson City (a total of four teams in the Tri Cities, plus one in Greeneville), and you will not find better entertainment for $4 anywhere.

I don't understand why people don't bother with minor league baseball. It's the best entertainment value in all of sports. Rookie league general admission is $4-6 a head, and most AA teams don't charge more than $10 for reserved seating on game day. Shoot, you could get season tickets for the Sounds for less than $8 a game this year.

I can understand why people wouldn't want to - Greer Stadium isn't exactly a state-of-the-art facility - but what else are sports fans going to do during the summer? Sit around and pick their noses waiting for Chris Johnson to sneeze?

Im a Reds fans so the Pirates were once only behind the Dodgers on the hate list(you can tell I was a kid in the 70s) but they have sucked for so long I kinda feel sorry for them now. If the Reds cant rally in the last half of the season I just hope the Pirates or Brew crew pull through and it isnt the damn Cardinals, again...

So strange to see the word "power" and "Vanderbilt" in the same sentence without a "no". Especially this close to football season.

Well...their baseball team is actually rather good. Basketball isn't half bad.

But yes, in the SEC, the benchmark is football, and in that, Vandy is a monumental failure.
