Good. Didn't want the Rangers to re-sign him. Bad knee.
Prospal will replace Huselius who tore a pec muscle lifting weights.

Prospal/Carter/Nash could be an awesome line.
Best of luck to Vinny. Gonna miss that guy.

Shame, he should have been re-signed. Would have added much needed skill to the Anisimov-Callahan second line.

Very pleased to tell you all that we have signed Vinnie Prospal. He is a top 6 forward to help replace Kristian Huselius.

Columbus is an underappreciated market. They will sure appreciate his heart!

Was really hoping we'd resign him.
Oh well, I guess we'll have to deal with Wolski in our top 6.

Glad he found a job. It was time to move on, but I'll miss him. Good Ranger.

Good for Vinny. He benefitted from CLB's injury situation to get a bigger contract.
$1.75MM PLUS bonuses? That contract is going to wind up as a $2MM+ cap hit.
No way that fits under the Rangers' cap if he was the 12th Forward, much less the 15th.
Besides, the goal all along was for the solid, serviceable vets to fall off one-by-one as the core developed. Feds got the last such spot this year. He'll likely be gone next.
Works out for all parties.

I'm not disappointed that the Rangers didn't sign him, since I didn't see him coming back, but he would have been nice to have.
Will be fun watching him in Columbus though.

Sad to see him go. Despite his age, he is still one hell of a player. I would have so loved to have seen him back, but unfortunately there was no room. I hope he really does well with Columbus, Vinny wasn't here long, but he sure made an impact.

Loved the guy, but we couldn't afford the 2+M salary he commanded (and deserved).

I was a big advocate of retaining him. Oh well. Best of luck to Vinny. He was only here for two years, but I really loved the guy.

I'm definitely going to miss Vinny. Great competitor, tons of heart, and a good puck distributor, to boot. Tough to point to anybody and say they worked harder for us in the last couple of years.

One of my favorite complementary FA signings in forever.

Sad to see him go... I really enjoyed watching him play the game. He's a guy I wouldn't be surprised if we brought back in a deadline deal if we are short on the wing come the deadline - if Columbus is already out..

My thoughts as well. Wish we had the cap space to keep him

I was a big fan of Vinny before he was a Ranger, a bigger fan when he was a Ranger, and I'll continue to be his fan after he's a Ranger.
Gonna miss having Vinny here, but I'm glad to see everybody grew so fond of him while he was here. He's really a class act, a terrific player, and a great leader.

Without him, we probably don't make the playoffs last season. I hope he does well in Columbus, sad to him go but it had to be done.
