I live 30 steps from McGill in the Ghetto on Milton. I pay $700 but I know a lot of people that live close that pay $350-500 for a decent place. If you are concerned about French than live in the Ghetto because its all English kids. Plus it's very central. If you want to challenge your language abilities I'd live further away from McGill

Glad you're enjoying it...it really is an amazing city.

Two weeks until I only have 3 classes remaining...really think about doing all three at night this fall while working full time just to get my degree. Not willing to wait until next Winter to finish.

To be honest, bad stuff can happen anywhere (not to say that Montreal is a dangerous city - however, I've heard of isolated incidents everywhere). As long as you're not in Montreal East, you should be alright.

Plateau it is. Just off of St. Laurent, near Saint Joseph E. Stoked.

Now off to Brazil I think for the summer, and ill be back sometime in August.

I just have to hear back from McGill, then I will finally make the decision to go to there or Concordia.

It really isn't my style to be this freaking busy/have so many things on the go. Glad its almost all over.

Somehow I feel safer where I live in MTL-Nord than St-Michel but I left St-Michel 8 years ago. I don't know how it is to live there nowadays.

Anyhow, school's done for me but never say never. My Bachelor's diploma rests in a nice frame. Love it.

I am so ****ed, as it stands. Just found out who my teachers are for the upcoming term (JMSB).

COMM 210 - Got Dostaler. Could be worse. Lituchy's the only other viable option (I refuse to take a class that goes into the night, I actually do want to watch the Habs ). But there is someone else: Rami Matta. Only bummer is his class is on Saturday from 10 to 1. I'm leaning towards taking him and having both Thursday and Friday off.

COMM 212 - Cooperberg for this one. I'm not sure what to think, I've read she's a mixed bag. Medicoff, Errunza, and Michel are the other choices that I can switch to. Medicoff is, by all accounts, a total joke, as is Michel. So that leaves Erunza and Cooperberg.

COMM 215 - I ended up with Buyukkurt, and she doesn't allow laptops. From all accounts, she (and all the others) are terrible. I'm seriously leaning towards taking Nebebe's online class just so I don't have to deal with these fools and I get to keep everything electronic (which is a big deal for me). Other than that, there's Kermani and Bayne.

Last class is DESC 200 with Vahidov, my only break so far.

Any advice to share?

That doesn't sound too bad. Is she one of those "never take again" types for you?

Nearly a thousand dollars if you buy them all new.

I recommend buying used whenever possible, or possibly not buying them and hanging out at the library. This may not be obvious to an 18 year old, but there is absolutely no benefit to a newer addition. The material taught in introductory courses doesn't change rapidly at all. They do move around the contents a little and change the page numbers to make it look different.

...the ****! Something tells me she used to teach by squishing up wildberries and writing on cave walls with them.

That's how much I budgeted out, just figured I'd double-check thanks

I'll see if I can snag some used ones off Amazon first, if not I'll have to go new.

No, she was fine. I just had a problem with how the course was organized - 7 of 13 classes were spent on orals, and we had to go through the last 8 chapters in the last class.

Get the question bank for the final, which is all MC, because it'll help you big.
