The way Tippet's system is played, Phoenix doesn't need a fantastic goalie. Like Nashville, they play a game that is very goalie friendly. And I agree Ekman-Larsson is a treat to watch. His puck skills are better than 90% of the forwards in the league.

The first 20 games can't be any tougher than last year plus our schedule looks easier to start.

Yes we've all heard about how great the Canucks interdivision record in the west was. My point about the division was simple, while the Hawks are getting the brunt of Detroit and Nashville (who almost knocked you out) and even St Louis and Columbus who are tougher this year for 6 games a piece compared to Edmonton, Calgary, Colorado, and Minny?

I'm starting to lean towards the 5-6 range lately. I feel very comfortable with our forwards this year and think we made some big improvements. I'm not sold on our defense yet, and that's mainly because of a wait-and-see as to if Leddy can handle the bigger role he now will have with Campbell gone. Realize our overall D depth did get better, but it still is an area for concern, especially with the tough division we play in.

I feel like the Preds lost depth over the offseason. Joel Ward was one of the few goal scorers they had too. Rinne and their top D pair would have to carry the team to win the division. I'd be set on Chicago or Detroit to win the division, Preds 3rd, Blues 4th, and Jackets 5th.

Honestly, Columbus shouldn't be overlooked anymore. They made some solid off season moves and improved their team.

Honestly, Carter and Wiz didn't make them a PO Team.
Not sold on Mason and they need a Goalie that carries them into the POs.
