They were used as examples of players who have had injury filled careers (although Tocchet did have a long career and Lindros is still playing). Lindros was an NHL MVP and Hart Trophy winner, now he is a shell of that player and will never play at that level due to his injuries.

Gary Roberts was also a very tough player who had a history of injuries (and retired for a short while before coming back from a neck surgery). He has had a long, injury filled career but he fought through it luckily. Wendell Clark is another example of a tough, gritty power forward who had his career cut short. He was a warrior and scored a number of clutch playoff goals in his career and always stepped up his play in big games.

You need players like that if you want to advance far into the playoffs.

I wish Deader and his family all the best. Thanks for the memories.

Damn, gonna miss that guy play. He's one of those player's that would sacrifice anything to win. The NHL needs more of those players.
The Kings HAVE to do something this year to honor Deadmarsh. I think it would be fitting to do something when they play the Avs. Show him the respect that he deserves.

Man this is sad I'm a Canucks fan, but I think this guy would have been one of the best players in the NHL if he had stayed healthy. I saw this guy as a future captain every time I saw him play.

One of the best Kings in the post-Gretz era. Guy could do it all. He was my kind of hockey player.

Never forget the game he called out Ottawa from the penalty box. Awesome.

Adam Deadmarsh showed more heart on the ice than anyone. The guy left everything on the ice and never held back. It was a pleasure to watch Deader perform because you felt the electricity everytime. His burst of speed to the outside of d-men towards the goalie was one of my favorite plays to watch. The guy was a true talent and he's a great human being. it's unfortunate to see him retire but we all expected it. I hope he has no ill effects of the concussion and enjoys his retirement. God Bless DEADER

A real shame, what a player. I first started to like him when I saw him play for the US. The kind of player any team wants.
